Cascade Effect Season Outreach
Proud to look back at all we have accomplished in Outreach over the course of the 2014-2015 Season. We covered a lot of ground Sending and Receiving Signals . . .
Check out our 2014-2015 judging video for the IL (East) FTC League. It is our first judging video and we hope you all enjoy it. We also hope this leads to a great conversation (it is sure tough to fit such an exciting season into under the required 3 minute limit) with judges at our League Championship event on January 24th in Crystal Lake. Come out and see us . . .
Cascade Effect IL East League Meet 2 (2104-12-18)
Wow! Really wow! What else can you say.
Dynamic Signals is proud to report another successful IL East League Meet. This time at Lake Forest High School (Thanks for being such great hosts!)
This Meet marked the introduction of Marcos 2.0. With a lot of scoring element and code modifications, it was time to see how Marcos could perform on the field.
During field evaluation it was clear something was not quite right with autonomous . . . or was it. Our field demo failed due to the IR beacon being off. Or so we thought.
Our night started with Match 2. Teamed up with 9082 (Demon Bot) the Blue Alliance set out with a plan. Unfortunately, the plan started with a missed kickstand in autonomous. Fortunately, 9082 was there to support us. They were able to place three goals and their robot on the ramp while we scored a ball in the center goal to secure the victory. Final score 188-30 and a great start to the day.
Next is was Match 4 as Red Alliance with 9115 (Gold). While Blue Alliance started strong with the kickstand, red was left without a strong autonomous yet again (strike 2). Fortunately, placement of a goal on the ramp, and yet another . . .oh wait. The second goal rolled back down the ramp and almost caused a major problem. Pinned on the lower portion of the ramp with the kickstand and balls, Red was left without access to move other items up on the ramp. Fortunately, Marcos came through and scored 2 balls in the center goal! From possible disaster to victory, 140-110.
After a bit of a break and some food, it was time for Match 8. During the short break, it was discovered that the modified autonomous program did not properly compile so adjustments were needed. Would it work? Well no. But it was close and hit the side corner of the center piece as Blue Alliance, along with 7009 (Robowarriors) was tied going into teleop thanks to 7009. As Red scored a small ball in the 30cm goal, Blue Alliance was busy scoring all of their rolling goals on the ramp. Marcos scored not 1, not 2, but 3 large balls in the center goal to cap off the match 176-96 for the third straight victory of the night.
Things took a turn in Match 10. literally. The match started with our Blue Alliance partner 9411 (Chasewood Learning) flipping off the side of the ramp in autonomous. Despite some aggressive defense from Red Alliance, we were able to get our robot and a goal on the ramp following a penalty on Red. The end result, a 110(80)-91 victory thanks to 30 points in penalties on Red Alliance. Whew!
Finally, Red Alliance for Match 12 included our Highland Park friends, 5452 (Toxic). Following a tied autonomous of robots off ramps, this match was once again aggressive on defense. The alliance was able to skillfully adapt and position ourselves for a parking zone score and two more large balls in the center goal from Marcos to solidify the 120-50 victory. This match included some spectacular driving of Marcos when it was needed.
That ended the night. Meet 2 ended with QP 10, RP 367 and a 1st place rank for the meet! Combined with our Meet 1 totals that brings us to QP 20, RP 695 and a 1st place rank not only in the IL East League but in the entire IL League through Meet 2. Like we said at the beginning . . . Wow! Really Wow!!i
Next up, the IL League Championship on January 24th in Crystal Lake. Come out and cheer on Dynamic Signals!!! We can use your support.
