Casey never really saw himself as cis. But he doesn't feel like he's "fully trans" either. Growing up, the adults called him "they" until he was old enough to say what he wanted to be called. He didn't mind being a they yet disliked being a she, and he felt most appropriate.
So when he was 4, he made it known.
So as confident as Casey was in been a he, he wasn't confident in calling himself a cis-man or trans-man.
He was inbetween.
Intersex.
He never really said he was a boy or a man, he always just said "intersex".
He always thought of himself as "the kid", "the child", and "the teen". Never a boy or a man.
He never truly understood who he was. And the problem was more than just his gender. He was raised to be a warrior, that’s what his mom wanted.
But it never was what he wanted. He didn't even know what he wanted.
He grew up saying his favorite color was deep red, like his mom. His favorite weapon was the chainsaw staff, like his mom. His favorite song was Cherry Bomb, like his mom.
He never had anything for himself.
And he had to hide things about himself too. His family hid secrets from him as well.
So....who is Casey Jones Jr?
Who's to say?
So he hid himself from his family too.
He was clay. Something that the adults of the Resistance molded him to become. He never had anything to himself, never got to decide anything for himself.
Except for one thing.
He was a he.
Then Casey entered a new world with a new life and family. A chance to be reborn again. And he learned everything that his story kept secret. He discovered every bit of lore that died on the cold lips of his late family members. He learned and discovered himself too.
