So as cute the current update is with all the wedding themes and what not, Black Forest Cookies story is actually kind of dark?

It’s pretty obvious that she’s grown up in St Pastry, meaning she’s spent her whole life praying to and worshiping the witches. And based on her behaviour in the current event, we can see that this devotion grew into complete romantic obsession.

And that’s really messed up.

If you’re in or have been in a religion, you can probably imagine how concerning it would be if someone in that religion became that obsessed with what you prayed to, especially to the point of wanting to marry them. Hopefully, this would be considered unhealthy and this person would be dealt with appropriately.

Unfortunately, Black Forest isn't being let down at all.

The leaders of St Pastry are ENABLING THIS. Even claiming that this behaviour is desirable and others should copy. Also Reverend Mother tells who she’s talking to that they’re “doubting” and “lacking in faith” for questioning Black Forest’s safety…the manipulation is crazy.

Also Black Forest’s devotion physically alters her form, becoming more monstrous. Scary.

The only other person we’ve properly seen from the St Pastry order is Pastry Cookie, who also isn’t doing great after what we’ve seen in the cake tower thing story. I vaguely also remember something with St Pastry order in cookie odyssey but I’d have to rewatch it.

I honestly really hope this is all building up to something dramatic, likely in the 5th anniversary, because I think that could be really cool.

(Little disclaimer down here, I’m not trying to attack anyone’s real world religion, just this fictional one 👍)

hear me out - Jax losing/not having his tail is symbolic of dysphoria/him being trans in some kinda way.

TADC already has a significant body horror element to it when you think about it (the body you inhabit isn't yours and it's characteristics are determined by an outside source. It doesn't need sleep or food, but whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on your point of view.) and this impacts all the characters in different ways. (Gangle's mask and Zooble being totally interchangeable in a ship of theseus way come to mind)

But we haven't seen it impact Jax as much until this episode. (or Ragatha/Pomni/Kinger, but this post isn't about them.) Additionally, many viewers interpret him as trans because of the maid dress scene and him commenting on how his rabbit form is "peak male performance" before realizing his tail isn't there.

We don't know exactly why Gooseworx chose to include this detail, but it had to have been important/pertinent to the story to make it the one of central points of this interaction between Pomni and Jax (the other one being alluding to Ribbit's later reveal with "not anymore")

Idk this could all be completely wrong but I wanted to ramble because I'm incapable of being normal about TADC right now.

So I just watched the sonic prime season 3 trailer and it looks like they’re gonna turn nine into a generic “take over the world” villain. I don’t think they actually will, or at least hope not, the series has been great and I don’t think the writers are gonna throw away one of their best characters for the sake of having a villain.

Nine will almost certainly be this season’s antagonist, after all, he’s has proven himself to be a dangerous foe. So if he truly thinks he’s doing what’s right then he will be fighting against the gang and trying to restore the grim. So far Nine has been a true neutral in my eyes at least and will do things to his own best interest, he has proper reasoning for wanting to defend The Grim (to escape the hell that is New Yoke) and stop Sonic from reassembling the paradox prism (it might destroy all other universes??? I’m kinda guessing by the “what do you think will happen to me” line but yk, whatever)

I wouldn’t be surprised if The Grim or/and the Prism is messing with his head and is causing his mind to warp reality. Or maybe the egg counsel scrambled his head from all that tasing (heheh, scrambled) I’ve tased myself before, not fun I also don’t think he’s gonna be fully evil, like, he’s still teetering on the edge of going back. Maybe he could have a moment (or few moments) of questioning if what he’s really doing is worth it, doubting his own plan because it feels wrong.

I’ve seen this kind of arc before and I don’t think he’ll be working entirely alone, like I know he’s smart but he’s also eight. Wait…

He’s eight, he’s EIGHT! HE’S EIGHT??? he’s literally just a little guy, how’s he supposed to destroy the universe when his bed time is 8:45? In all honesty looking at the situation through an eight year olds perspective, it makes sense that he’s lashing out, his brain has barely learned right from wrong. I work with kids and they don’t get that unhinged until the double digits Like I GUESS he could be 11-13 or something based on how he acts and I’m just now realizing that a bunch of teenagers should NOT be worrying about the capitalism apocalypse.

Anyway I really hope the writers don’t destroy Nine’s character cause I really like him and want him to be happy, very excited for season 3.

I have worked on my crochet wrap some more but I haven't taken any photos so... Nothing to show you there I'm afraid.

But! Achievements this week:

I finished reading Bable (late to the game) which was a very interesting read.

I completed the maths and English assessments necessary for my apprenticeship to begin, which it does on Wednesday 😬

I started a new book and it's a monster! Almost 1000 pages.

And I managed to organise lunch with my friends, which is no mean feat. More cup-filling social time was one of my goals for the new year, and I have started as I mean to go on. I've known these people for over 20 years now and time spent with them is always so such a comfort. And the food was frankly amazing 🤤

An altogether pretty good week I think. I hope there are more good weeks to come, for all of us.

So, since this has basically become a side fandom account that I very rarely even use, I still want to pop in and make it very, very clear: BLACK LIVES MATTER.
