Oh that is so fantastic! ! ! That race is so much fun. I'm glad you are doing well and something that makes you sound so happy! I can't wait to hear progress and see how it goes! (Heck, I might even run it myself)
Oh man, Casey! You should totally DO IT!! My buddy who encouraged me to sign up isn't going. He lives in New York City and said he'd fly out for it, but his birthday is a few days before and his wife's birthday a few days after, so the timing just doesn't fit for him. He said the race is 1,000x more fun if you can do it in a group of supportive friends and companions.
For other friends reading this, if you do not feel fit enough to engage in the race, you can be a spectator and cheer me on for something like $15 or $20! A TON of the proceeds from the Tough Mudder events go toward the Wounded Warrior foundation, so even though the tickets feel pricey, I get safe equipment to play on during the obstacle course, a t-shirt, a beer (hooray), and a headband. Spectators get live music (I am pretty sure) to keep them busy as they watch the contestants.
It isn't a timed race, so teamwork and making sure everyone finishes and feels victorious is a huge part of it. I would SO love it if we could start up a team, Casey!
