Honeydew drags a hand down her face, eyes narrowing as she tries-- really tries-- to process what she just heard. “So… lemme get this straight,” she begins, voice tight from the knee‑jerk what the hell reaction she’s still wrestling down. “You went online. Made a post. On some dodgy‑lookin’ forum. Tryin’ to hire someone with ‘elemental talents’… to come out to our farm… and spar with me. And somebody actually answered you?”

"Correct! Somewhat!"

He... Almost sounds too proud of himself.

“Before you ask-- no need to fret,” he continues, waving a hand like he’s presenting a business pitch. “I never revealed my identity. I’m not looking to draw the paparazzi to our front door. I simply posted your most recent selfie with the request and let the online world do the rest. Granted, I had to sift through a… considerable number of users with the wrong idea.”

Honeydew squints. He is absolutely downplaying that number.

“When that wasn’t working,” Cell goes on, tone turning breezy, “I made a few phone calls and pulled some strings. Eventually I found someone worthy of a good spar-- a peculiar specimen, a Cat‑Saiyan hybrid. Perfect for your skill set. I thought it’d be an interesting change of pace. Observing you fight outside my own influence might give me better insight regarding your complex abilities. Greater knowledge to better control and shape your training, after all.”

"...Phone calls? Pulled a few strings?... You're not kidding, are you? Outside of talkin' with Swordy, who else do you know well enough to be pulling any strings? And did you say Cat-Saiyan hybrid?? What's that all about?"

"...Yes, I did say "Cat-Saiyan hybrid". It only gets stranger, believe me. And, actually, to tell you the truth-- it was just him. Y'know, Sword Man. DWN-059. My homie. He knows a lot of guys who know guys, it's kind of shocking. He'll be swinging by Saturday morning for coffee, nearly forgot to tell you."

"Oh, Slick! Good to hear--"

"--With that said!," Cell cuts in, sharp enough to make her flinch. "Your latest competitor, Casey, will be here any minute now! I suggest you wait outside and await her arrival! I'll be right behind you as usual, but don't expect me to assist you in any sparring today. You'll be judged by every choice you make this afternoon, so stay sharp!"

Honeydew straightens, nerves sparking. "O...Okay! I knew that! Let's... Do this then!"

And so the farmer and the Bio‑Android step out onto the front porch, standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder as they wait for the stranger Cell has summoned for this bizarre, unexpected meeting.
