Pictures fired at law enforcement throughout search for Caseyville financial institution robber

CASEYVILLE, IL (KTVI) – The FBI and the Illinois Condition Law enforcement are major an investigation into a series of crimes in the Metro East. It commenced with a carjacking in Caseyville.

Collinsville police chased the suspect and he fired shots at them.

At about 3pm a white male exhibiting a silver/chrome handgun demanded funds from employees at the UMB Lender in Collinsville. There ended up 9 personnel and two buyers inside at the time. He created his get absent in a vehicle taken throughout a carjacking in Caseyville .

“Afterwards Collinsville law enforcement officers positioned the auto. A pursuit happened. Many units during the region have been chasing the suspect simply because it was a bank robbery, a critical robbery. Throughout that pursuit the suspect was firing numerous shots at the pursuing units.” stated Commander Derek Smart of the Illinois Point out Police.

A bullet struck a single Collinsville police vehicle but the two officers within were not injured.

Officers from several departments responded browsing neighborhoods around the Frank Holten State Park and wooded locations.

“He abandoned the vehicle in the area of 79th and Point out Road and ran into the wooden line. Officers that have been on scene have been chasing him on foot.” explained Commander Derek Smart

The guy wound up in woods around a household region off Lake Boulevard in Centreville. In accordance to Commander Wise the suspected lender robber shot himself and died of the self inflicted gunshot.

We’re told no 1 else was injured during this criminal offense spree. THe investigation is continuing and at this hour the identify of the deceased suspect has not been released.

A number of police companies hunting for robbery suspect in the East St.Louis region, pictures have been described to be fired.
