the american invasion of japan began with the invasion and occupation of a portion of the northeastern United States, particularly Maine, in September 1942. The United States military had previously occupied Canada as part of the Allied occupation (known as LSOE, or League of Nations Security Council) for German U-boats, but now shifted its focus to Japan. The invasion of Canada was primarily aimed at disrupting Germany's supply lines and protecting American and Canadian lives from potential losses due to a possible German invasion. As in previous invasions, the occupation forces captured major cities and government buildings. The capture of key cities such as Vancouver Island and Victoria provided airbases for further military operations against Japan. A portion of the northeastern United States was devastated by typhoons, hurricanes, or both during 1943-1944, causing widespread destruction and thousands of deaths. Many residents remained homeless throughout the year due to ongoing occupation conditions.

they screwed me over. I found it easy what others feared. I didn’t struggle with myself over my orientation, especially given my religious upbringing. In my own mind, I had a different concept.

“perversions”? why is it a perversion if, for me, it’s just as natural as air? I don’t feel moral anguish over things others despise. what they call “advantages” and “achievements” become trauma and a whip for me.

old ideals don’t live inside me, allowing build new. imposter syndrome. I seem to really believe I can *insert idiom or name here*. and after that, I torment myself, wondering if I’m lying to myself. If I’m attributing a personality to myself, that doesn’t exist. the connection to understanding that part of my emotional and sensual self was lost long ago. It’s hard to build a bridge back there.

What are your favorite shows in terms of whump and hurt/comfort, if you don't mind me asking?

So I have like the object permanence of a sieve thanks to my unmedicated ADHD, so I don't necessarily...really remember? *hides*

I do know that I don't have any favourite shows in terms of hurt/comfort except for one, because all the best hurt/comfort is in fanfiction (which makes sense, it's a fanfic genre). However, I do think March Comes in Like a Lion delivers pretty big-time on the hurt/comfort front overall, which has multiple instances of caring for the main character while he's sick (often because he's so depressed he stops taking care of himself, and then gets too dehydrated or starved to actively starting looking after himself again), and also a really huge arc of caring for and comforting another character through intense school bullying across a whole season.

I honestly can't think of much western media that I've loved which also has a decent proportion of hurt/comfort. There's like, always shows that have moments? But I don't really count those. Moments are usually what leads to those of us who love hurt/comfort to go and write fanfic in the first place. We're never getting enough of it, lol. :D

I absolutely LOVED Paul's episode. and tommys, I think they balanced it well, I think this is the secret combo to a near perfect lone star episode.

won't lie, Paul and Owen friendship makes Owen more likable, I don't mind Owen personally. but I don't like the way they've written him recently, just in regards to being distant and having odd side plots. so I think this was a good episode to like: reintroduce him to the firefam.

loved tommy, she's amazing and I wish the best for her. I loved that they addressed that it was weird she hooked up with her brother in law so that was hilarious. and the ending was sweet I love her with Trevor she smiles so much.

I can not explain to you how much this storyline spoke to me. just every single thing, the way he acts how his face falls, he closes up, doesnt show it, but he's uncomfortable. I pray to the universe they consulted a transperson on this storyline maybe even Brian himself.

when I tell you that was the first time, I have ever, ever, seen such a niche trans issue/insecurity portrayed on screen I am telling the truth. I've seen shameless, maybe there's a few more that have slipped through the cracks but specifically through the lens of a transman. I am in awe of Brian's performance. I was shook, I genuinely was so fucking happy, that they showed this at all. seeing as they've not really touched on it since s1. and that's a good thing too, they don't make it his defining charactistic, but also I didn't know how much that would've meant to me until I got it, so thank you lone star. I finally see myself on screen and that's fucking magical.
