Sometimes, I like to think back to the good old days when the burden of crops didn't weigh so much on my shoulders. The picture above is of me learning how to harvest wheat at a young age, which would eventually be very important knowledge for my sustenance. My father taught me how to be a man, and I truly wish he was around for longer, for I have few memories of him. A few days after this was painted, we were attacked by Indians in King Phillip’s War, and my father was killed while defending my mother and I. My mother took great care of me, and I can never be thankful enough for the courage of my father.

 After moving to Salem, I bought my own land, applying my knowledge about harvesting crops so that I could not only put food on the table, but make a profit as well. Now, I have two servants who do this for me. They do their work for the most part, but I must make sure they are doing it correctly, which sometimes brings a lot of stress. Although they are helpful, I do have to scold them every once in a while to show them who’s boss. You don’t want em standing up for themselves like Bacon!
