s It’s Friday night and the gods have smiled upon Cas because he’s managed to get an entire subway car to himself. At least he had, until he had gotten on. He was rocking out on his headphones, but the music was turned up so loud Cas was pretty sure he could identify the house band the guy was listening too.

The other man was slight and limber enough to swing around the poles. He obviously hadn’t seen Cas yet and for some reason he couldn’t help but be slightly annoyed by that. He watched, alternating between annoyance and awe. Eventually, he realized he had to say something- he had to get this reading done.

“Excuse me?” Cas said, loud enough to penetrate the blaring volume.

The guy visibly startled, but hit pause.

“Sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you. Just- could you turn down your volume. I’m trying to get some reading done.”

“Sure not a problem.”

Cas went to sit down, a little disappointed, but he returned to his reading. He was surprised when the guy sat down next to him.

“Sorry to bother you. I just noticed what you’re reading.”

“It’s alright,” Cas said.

“You should read Greenberg too, if you haven’t. He critiques a lot of Boswell’s ideas and it’s a good balance.”

“Thanks. What’s the title?”

“Construction of Homosexuality.”

Cas raised an eyebrow.

“I  know, I know,” The guy said. “It was written in the 80s, but it’s a really could survey of LGBT history.”

“You know your stuff. I’m Cas, by the way.”

“Alfie. Wee should grab some coffee, if you aren’t busy.”

“I, I think I’d like that Alfie.”

CASMANDRIEL!!!!

Omg you know Cas would be super exacting and making sure everything is in exactly the right place for optimum comfort while Samandriel just sort puts together a huge pile of fluffy things and flops down into it and calls it a nest. They eventually compromise and have it arranged along the outside then in the middle is a pile of fluffy stuff.

The really important stuff though is Cas and Alfie burrowing into their nest and snuggling and dozing. Cas wrapped around Samandriel and snoring lightly into his hair while Samandriel shifts around to wrap his arms around his mate.

Castiel owning an antique store and noticing a guy coming in all the time, looking for buttons and fastenings and whatever he can get his hands on. Cas starts saving them back when they come in. Samandriel is totally surprised that this guy even remembers him but they get to talking and Samandriel says he re-creates clothes for actors, mostly for re-enactments. Samandriel offering to show Cas his workshop. Spending months developing this working relationship and meeting for dinner to discuss trade shows and if they're going to travel at the same time . Cas finally sucking it up and kissing Samandriel after he comes into the store one day.
