Hi! My name is Cassandra Rodriguez. I'm a 17 year old Bostonian with a heart for capturing moments to save for later. There are some feelings that we can’t easily express through words. As an aspiring professional photographer and videographer, I want to bring something unique to the eyes of the struggling youth with big dreams. I want to change the world and inspire people by creating a way for them to understand certain moods/feelings through my photographs. I want to show people that happiness truly does exist in this world, despite all the negativity surrounding us.
Art Series Title: "Grappling with Reality" Art Description: Why not challenge social norms? We rarely talk about how we cope with our own issues. People usually just turn a blind eye. Most of the ways we deal with life derive from the lack of confronting our own emotions - Or the ugly truth of reality. In my photographs, I’m hoping to bring to light what we tend to kick under the rug. All it takes is one time to develop habits that turn into routines: Smoking, taking medication, running away, not sleeping enough, over-consumption of sweets, caffeine, and lastly, over-sleeping.
