Kayla Scott. Graphic designer based in Saint Louis. I am new to graphic design but have been creating since I was able to pick up a crayon. Currently I am doing freelance work and establishing my voice in the design world. My interest in poetry adds to my designing. Almost any and everything I do revolves around relationships, lack there of and passion. Although new to the design world, I hope to make a lasting impression in it.
For this series I just explored different types of phobias with a minimalist style of design.

1. I am made of shining glimmering gold.
I am made of sharp ice and snow,
born to the most frozen day of the year.
Into windows the sun shone with mockery
as though the world laughed at its little joke
blue blanket hospital baby
Inside I am warm.
Next week I am a blizzard raging
a swirling illustration in the children's book
they used to read me at home
little fly, little fly stuck in honey
2. I am made of shimmering glittering snow
melting together with dirt on the road
stuck up under the tires of safe family cars
kicked off in the parking lot
satisfying the 5 year old urge
to break a thing and watch it fall
before being grabbed by Mama's hands
and led into the CVS.
I'm sitting on the ground
in front of the seasonal decorations
snow boots squeaking
painting mud-angels
between isles 4 and 6
impatiently waiting
hurrying out in my snow pants
swishing swish swishing
cause she’s still set in Russia
and worries the cold will get to me
cold car door
road salt streaking
candy in the bag
hot but I won’t take my coat off.
I am in the backseat staring out
time whirling by on the drive
my mom's silent eyes shine
sad. Knowing it'll just be the two of us,
at home again, but so far we’re singing:
I'm the happiest little kid on earth
3. I am made of glistening sparkling snow.
I am innocent and open again
floating downward onto clean skin
all dressed up and out the door
I am a young girl's diary
secret yet somehow desiring otherwise
addressing a "you" I did not know
I am in love with a moment
that will forever replay in my head,
the night I felt the cold
indifferent world aligning

and you called it pretty
choosing to sit next to me
at dinner and in the backseat
the floor of the thin old car
cold above the pavement
my toes frozen, drunk
squeezed in dress shoes
hot breath floating out and
around us, crammed into
a car sold or scrapped years ago.
I am in love with a moment
when the snow glinted and fell
with shining pines in the streetlight
for I was ready to swallow up
the entire world in an embrace
only to slowly shrink back
from it far away into
the space I now inhabit
alone within myself.

We rarely talk about how we cope with our own issues. People usually just turn a blind eye. Most of the ways we deal with life derive from the lack of confronting our own emotions - Or the ugly truth of reality. In my photographs, I’m hoping to bring to light what we tend to kick under the rug. All it takes is one time to develop habits that turn into routines: Smoking, taking medication, running away, not sleeping enough, over-consumption of sweets, caffeine, and lastly, over-sleeping.
My names Darryl Brown, but I go by DTDB/Downtown DarrylBrown. I’m an illustrator from west Philadelphia who currently works and lives in the Bay Area. My name is Kevin Williams but, since my name is so common I go under the pseudonym Robyn. I am currently a digital arts major in order to broaden my horizon from studio arts such as shown. I've heavily practiced oil painting and black and white film photography for about 3 or so years, due to lack of a proper black room I've since switched to digital. Most of my paintings tend to reflect a lighter feeling of tranquility while my photography has been juggled between urban life and rural landscapes. I am a very lit individual.

Is an art student and musician living in Brooklyn New York. Although she mainly works in illustrative mediums such as color pencils and oil pastels, she also uses acrylic oil and water based paints. A song by The Strokes, it’s aesthetic reminiscent of a reclaimed 80s reclaimed style, was perfect for today. I was listening to it nonstop on the train ride from Purch to the city. I’d had such a long, exhausting day and this very comfy and cute outfit got me through it feeling good about myself.
New Clarks, new casual romper from Forever 21, and beautiful new crop floral button down (also from F21) -- the perfect outfit for a day out with your partner in crime. Today, it happened to be one of my closest friends (Randi, my partner in crime for a few years if you don’t count all the previous lives❤️) who also served as photographer and gave me one of my favorite shoots ever.
This song is a feel great epic song about looking good, and feeling good. That day I definitely had fun with my outfit, I mean for god sakes I had mirrors on my shirt!

My shirt, jacket , and pants came from the same thrift store (Uniques). On the back of my biker jacket I painted the phrase “I Am Not A Myth”. I painted that because I feel that mainstream media would like to paint the picture of a perfect person. This person is thin, straight, happy, and by societies standard the epitome of beauty, as if there’s only one way to be beautiful. I’m opposite of the “standards” – I’m not in shape (scary) , I’m black (even more scary), And to top it off I’m gay (THE SCARIEST). So by society’s standards, and the media’s standard a person like me doesn’t exist, or shouldn’t exist. And by me painting that it’s me giving my voice and speaking up to say, “I EXIST YOU ASSHOLES!!!”...I’m not here to rebuild the mold, I’m here to break it.
It’s been a long time coming for this. Here is an artist I had the pleasure of interviewing on my radio show, the amazing Punk Adams. This shoot was actually impromptu, I couldn’t let a look like this get by me. His perspective is so important and so powerful and I am glad to have had the opportunity to further give it platform. Panda Bear has been one of my favorite musicians for a really long time now. I keep coming back to his most recent album, Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper, which for all of the life/death themes always puts me in a great mood. His music is a comfort to me. There are a few really bouncy, liberated sounding tracks on the album, like Principe Real, which elevated my spirits that night.
Feeling careless is either absolutely awesome or can really get you in a lot of trouble. This night, however, was one of those times when letting go really worked out for me. Silly stuff isn't worth it.
The weekend is when I'll actually pay attention to what I'm wearing. Instead of trying to get specific items looking right I decided to take an easier route. I noticed that I had a lot of greener-teal colored items in my closet and just put them all together. I ended up with a super simple look that I felt incredible in. It definitely made me want to play with color more and reminded me that it's important to follow through with those random bursts of inspiration. I'm wearing an old favorite skirt from American Apparel, a F21 turtleneck and coat –– and riding boots given to me by one of my friends!
I ran into eartheyes at the Stood this day and, instantly in love with her outfit, I decided I had to have this shoot of sorts. Because there was an event going on it was difficult to find a good background apart from everyone else. But this shoot was meant to be; I wasn’t planning on going out and had no idea why I had even brought my camera, until I saw her and just knew!
