It has been a year of being in a new position and with the new budget there is now a more decent police force. Though he could never hope to replace Captain Serafin, he would at least do the best he could and for the city that he had sworn to protect. He was now more adjusted to being what he was.There was a little bit of concern when it came to the other side of the family as Marcus put it, but this was coming from the stories he had heard and not blind prejudice. It was one of Lavinia’s and his regular nights out. Because both of them needed time away from the places they worked and from their fellow colleagues from time to time. As Lavinia approached, a slight smile approached his lips. “What you having tonight? Looks like they are trying their hand at bloodtails but I don’t think they will be as good as yours,” he commented.

It was about time he went to something with a group of people. He couldn’t stay behind the safe walls of Song Gosni any more and to be honest he was missing work and was itching to get back despite what he had gone through. Though he does have nightmares about it fairly regularly. Very vivid ones. He felt bad every time he woke up in a panic and cold sweat. Wondering if Jae could feel it. Marcus had been keeping an eye on him and Cass was grateful for it. Jae too. Though today he was mourning the inability to have food anymore with all the food that was on display. “You ever miss food?” he asked Marcus.

The  station  was  busy  to  say  the  least,  kidnappings,  murders,  the  ongoing  massacre.  Seemed  like  as  soon  as  he  had  signed  the  paperwork  on  one  case  another  one  was  thrown  on  his  desk.  To  say  the  effects  of  the  massacre  had  a  ripple  effect  were  vastly  understated.  It  was  more  like  a  tsunami.  However  he  managed  to  get  the  night  off  when  he  got  a  text  from  Lavinia  to  meet.  It  was  good  that  she  was  feeling  better  and  he  was  looking  forward  to  a  night  of  just  drinking  lots  and  catching  up.  He  made  his  way  into  the  bar  she  had  picked  out  and  spotted  her.  “Hey  Lav,”  he  greeted  with  a  smile  coming  in  for  a  hug.  “You  got  drinks  in  yet,  if  not  what  you  having?”  he  asked.

"Theo,  you  know  the  fact  I  see  you  so  much  at  work  makes  it  weird  when  I  see  you  somewhere  that's  not  work,"  Cassian  chuckled.  The  funny  thing  was  that  Theo  wasn't  even  employed  by  the  police.  He  just  hung  out  there.  It  was  strange,  but  since  leek  has  said  nothing  against  it,  Cassian  kind  of  only  got  used  to  it.  "how's  it  going?"  He  asked.  Cassian  was  with  some  of  his  police  academy  friends.  Still,  the  subject  went  on  to  very  uncomfortable  territory.  Hence,  rather  than  ruin  their  fun  Cassian  decided  to  hang  at  the  bar  for  a  bit.

“Why  are  two-day  hangovers  a  thing?”  he  groaned  to  his  co-worker.  Though  to  be  fair,  many  drinks  were  needed  that  night  and  though  he  regretted  the  feeling  of  being  ill.  He  did  not  regret  that  actual  act  of  alcohol  consumption.  Cassian  spent  the  whole  day  in  bed  other  than  the  few  times  he  got  up  and  swiftly  regretted  it  each  time.  He  did  envy  those  with  a  faster  metabolism.  At  least  then  two-day  hangovers  were  not  a  thing  or  perhaps  hangers  were  not  a  thing  at  all  that  would  be  nice.  “Oh,  uh,  how  are  you  getting  on  with  the  Estrella  case?”  He  asked.

Sometimes  Cassian  had  to  question  sex  workers  it  wasn’t  their  fault  the  crime  happened  and  they  get  a  bad  rep  but  Cass  respected  them.  Though  he  did  not,  really  respect  vampires,  and  his  next  visit  was  to  a  vampire.  He  groaned  internally  but  had  to  keep  professional  and  composed.  He  knocked  on  the  escort’s  door  and  waited  patiently  for  them  to  open.  When  they  did  Cassian  flashed  his  badge.  “Morning  Miss,”  Was  she  a  miss  she  could  easily  be  three  maybe  ten  times  his  age.  Better  to  go  by  appearance  and  she  can  correct  him  if  he  got  it  wrong.  “Just  got  a  few  questions,”  he  reassured  her.

Cassian  was  probably  the  worst  brother  to  his  sister.  He  did  feel  bad  about  it,  but  the  whole  thing  of  her  being  one  of  them  usually  sent  him  into  a  fit  of  rage.  It  was  not  her  fault  he  knew  this.  He  would  very  much  like  to  get  a  hold  of  the  one  that  made  her  this  way.  Most  of  the  time,  he  ignored  the  fact  she  was  a  vampire  treat  her  like  he  always  did  and  just  ignore  that  she  suck  blood  like  the  rest  of  them.  However,  now  that  Lavinia  was  also  a  vampire,  he  felt  that  maybe  it  was  time  he  got  over  himself  and  try  acting  like  a  good  brother  and  less  of  an  asshat.  So  he  texted  his  sister  to  meet  for  drinks.  To  finally  acknowledge  his  prejudice  and  apologise  fr  the  way  he  had  been  treating  her.  He  knew  he  would  still  make  mistakes,  but  he  would  at  least  try  and  be  more  mindful.  As  his  sister  arrived,  he  smiled.  “Hey  Gabby,  how  are  you?  I  haven’t  ordered  drinks  yet  what  would  you  like?”  He  asked.
