In the new side comic, Sugar states she's planning to never put Lola through anything like "that" again. Is she referring to the events in Drop-Out? Also she said she can't take any more of the meds, is she currently medicated or finding other ways to cope? Sorry if I'm asking too much.

1) yes, she is referring to the events of drop-out.

2) she is still on medication, although her regimen has been pared down a bit (that is another story in and of itself).most of her change in personality is due to self-reflection and problem-solving, though. i wrote a large patreon post about it of which i am far too lazy to copy and paste the entirety, so i will just paste this

Like with art, it's based off what you think you're worth. You're a great artist, and to create comics you need to be a great writer, so you know you have the skill. Write a 5 page story, see how long it takes you, then charge for your base "worth" plus how long it took you to write. I started out giving quick and easy one shots (like 1-3 pages) for free, then when demand started rolling in, I started charging.

I’ve been really scatterbrained lately too, a lot of my friends are going through some heavy stuff and I’ve just been trying to help them.

So, I write commissions for a living. Basically I charge per page cap. So a 13-18 page story will cost the buyer around 45$, plus extra for extra characters. I find this a lot easier than charging per word, because it's easier for me to reach a page count than a word count. There's a big writing niche on Furaffinity, a lot of people want stories but you have to be consistently posting for it.

Hmm, per page sounds easier yeah. I might be able to manage short stories, 5 pages at most... but i dunno what a fair price for my own writing would be cuz it’s never really been in demand ^^;

Someone I know actually claimed that being trans is a linear thing. That you MUST get hormones, and go through both top and bottom surgeries in order to be real trans. She went as far as to call me a "trans trender" because I haven't transitioned yet.

I found the YCH you're referring to and Jesus is that disrespectful and wrong. Not even just the tracing but making a profit off a such a tragedy is terrible.

(sorry if I ask too many questions!) Do you have any OCD characters with cycling thoughts? Not just the "I need to clean", but the obsessive need to repeat phrases, ask questions, cycling fears? Like I mentioned I have OCD and so many people think it just means I clean everything, they don't know the full story about it.

hmm. nicole and mallory are formally diagnosed with ocd, and outis has it too (fun fact: schizophrenia is often comorbid with ocd apparently).nicole has a lot of number and cleaning things because, i do, but.mallory is probably the strongest in terms of what you described, with obsessive intrusive thoughts (we could call these “the voices in her head” based on her other diagnoses), recurring fears (we could call these paranoia based on her other diagnoses), low-grade hoarding compulsions (we could call these “lack of hygiene” based on her other diagnoses), et cetera.outis’s ocd would be mostly what one would call pure O ocd.

I'm curious, and not very educated on schizophrenia. What are Sugar's symptoms? I know she has paranoia and what looks like violent outbursts, but does she see and hear things? I was recently diagnosed with pretty bad OCD, ADHD, and Depression so seeing someone portray mental illness with such clarity is amazing.

sugar does not see and hear things.what i wanted for my first character with schizophrenia was absolutely no hallucinations, because in my experience, it’s far from the worst thing about schizophrenia, and isn’t necessary for a diagnosis, yet that’s what people reduce it to most often.

copping from a list i posted back in june... sugar shows symptoms of schizophrenia in drop-out such as: 

a short temperament or general irritability (emotional dysregulation)

insomnia, but no perceived fatigue from it

a lack of awareness of her surroundings, conceptually and physically (detachment from reality)

paranoia

general seclusion and social withdrawal based on her housing decor

difficulties understanding social cues and norms, and empathizing (detachment from reality and cognitive symptom)

moments of disorganized thoughts and speech (cognitive symptom)

poor memory recall and ability to focus (cognitive symptom)

intense mood swings and intense emotions all around (emotional dysregulation)

that’s a decent chunk of them.

Thank you for a beautiful comic, can I ask why Sugar and Frankie broke up?

thank you.frankie and sugar broke up because frankie got on medication and her mental health improved, while sugar’s medication began not working as her schizophrenia symptoms became more present, as is typical in young adults. sugar began needing more assistance to function and having more episodes.frankie broke it off because she could not split her time between a job, school, and a demanding relationship; of those three, her relationship with sugar was the least important... or it seemed like the easiest to jump back into later.
