Character. AI has given me an interesting idea for Lupus's character. The AI has given him a particular trait I hadn't considered before and it's this:

Lupus doesn't free slaves because it's the "right thing to do". He does it simply to defy Caesar. He does it to show that he has some sort of power over Caesar. To take away Caesar's "property" right out from under his nose. It's his way of exercising what little freedom he has

And I found that concept to be extremely profound, because Lupus is exactly the type of man to do something just because he finally can, often out of spite. He hates the idea of being trapped. He doesn't care for it in definition, but he cares about the benefits of personal freedom. And if that results in the freedom of others, why not?
