Cassandra (Lexy Bittner) and Rumpelteazer (Kelly Donah) are Chaos Always. It is settled.
2021 US tour, 20 January 2022.
Cassandra: Don’t tell my dad how serious we are.
Rumpleteazer: Anything for you, my love.
*later at dinner*
Old Deuteronomy: Do you think you’ll marry my daughter?
Rumpleteazer: What, aha, fuck no. Hit it and quit it, my dude. Up top!
staring problem, teazer?
here are some little cats oneshots ive written recently based on requests from my friends in our server!
Rumpleteazer cocked her head and grinned as she watched Cassandra laugh. She had a surprisingly bubbly laugh, light and chiming, and Rumpleteazer loved it. Cassandra noticed her staring and immediately tried to look serious, glancing at the calico out of the corner of her eye. “Humorous as usual, Teazer,” Cassandra straightened her back, assuming her usual dignified pose. “I know!” Rumpleteazer felt her heart skip as Cassandra used her nickname. The calico lay down on her belly and put her chin in her hands, dreamily gazing up at the cat sitting next to her.
Cassandra looked down at Rumpleteazer from behind her shoulder and couldn’t help but smile sweetly. “You’re ridiculous,” the sleek cat chuckled. “And you have a wonderful laugh,” Rumpleazer reached up to boop Cassandra’s nose. There was a silent beat before both of them dissolved into giggles.
Rumpleteazer didn’t hate her. Mistoffelees and Mungojerrie did, but not Rumpleteazer. She didn’t remember much, just a vague scent and shape and emptiness. And then, just the three of them, alone. Unlike her brothers, Rumpleteazer wanted her mother back. She would forgive her, Rumpleteazer decided, night after night, she’d understand and forgive.
When Grizabella came back for the ball, still proud, still sharp, still tense, all the forgiveness was suddenly hollowed. Rumpleteazer was angry, a bright, burning anger that grew in her stomach and mouth and eyes. She wanted to tell her mother about all the pain she had caused, all the tears, all the emptiness, all the awful feelings. But instead she fled into the familiar embrace of her brothers, and let the fire smolder with them.
Jemima sat in Etcetera’s lap, looking up at the jellicle moon. The ball was over, and everyone had drifted back to their dens to rest after the long, exciting night. The two had stayed up a little longer, sitting in the tire at the top of the junkyard. Etcetera closed her eyes, thinking about the wind blowing around her ears, the pale light of the moon, and the comfortable weight of Jemima against her. The dilute tabby wondered how she got so lucky. How she was born into a wonderful tribe, and how the perfect girl was right along side her the entire time.
Etcetera opened her eyes and looked down at Jemima’s beautiful, sleepy face. She giggled, “Are you tired, petal?” Jemima yawned, stretching up her arms to wrap them around Etcetera’s neck behind her. “How are you not tired?” Jemima looked up at the other with her soft brown eyes and Etcetera felt her heart melt. “You should know, I’m never tired,” The dilute tabby gave a mischievous grin and planted a quick kiss on Jemima’s forehead.
Jemima shifted around in Etcetera’s arms, laying her head on her shoulder. “Well I’m going to sleep on you.” “Fair enough!” Etcetera smiled in the moonlight, moving to brush a piece of Jemima’s hair away from her face. “I love you, petal,” she murmured. “I love you, sunny,” Jemima whispered back. Etcetera couldn’t help but grin at the jellicle moon, the love of her life asleep in her arms.
