An Itch That CAN Be Scratched
Say goodbye to odours you can’t bear, moisture you can’t dry and itches you can’t scratch – Happy Friday everyone, Cast21 has designed a smarter more breathable plaster cast! Sure their design doesn’t take in to account the necessity for kids to claim the first signature on their BFFs cast, BUT we think the modern variations make up for it.
The CEO of this innovative start up, Jason Troutner, had more than enough motivation to redesign the traditional fibre glass cast as he was born with birth defects forcing him to be in and out of casts for a large portion of his life. Knowing the itchy, sweaty discomfort all too well he started Cast21 that used algorithms and engineering to come up with this new design in order to make the bone-healing process as hygienic and unobtrusive as possible. To fit the mould, practitioners simply slip the broken limb in to a sleeve and then inject the polyurethane resin in to the tubes. So long unforgiving itch that lost us a pencil, a chopstick and a nail file!
