Bonsai; the art of growing ornamental, artificially dwarfed varieties of trees and shrubs in pots.

Over the last few days I have watched loads of videos of people growing and tending to their Bonsai trees...

Today, I woke up with an idea of growing my own Bonsai Avocado tree... but first I needed to see if I can even shape one... So off to Woodies we went!

In Woodies I found an Australian Chestnut tree, and after a quick Google turns out that it can be made into a Bonsai... I brought it home and I plaited it, trimmed and wired it to the shape I wanted and now it's waiting time... It will either grow or die! If it works out and it grows I will make a Bonsai out of my germinating avocado seeds.

Man Accused in Daughter and Her Mother’s Disappearance Appears in Miami Federal Court

A 55-year-old man accused of involvement in the disappearance of his daughter and her mother made another appearance in a Miami federal courtroom on Monday.

Family and supporters of Gustavo Alfonso Castano Restrepo were present as he faced charges related to the alleged kidnapping and murder of his former partner Liliana Moreno and their eight-year-old daughter Daniella, who went missing on Memorial Day in 2016. Prosecutors claim that Castano’s motivations stemmed from resentment over the pregnancy, financial strain related to child support, and the fallout of an affair that reportedly ended his marriage.

Philip Louis Reizenstein, Castano’s defense attorney, has countered the prosecution’s arguments, stating that their claims rest on circumstantial evidence. Reizenstein emphasized that the lack of any recovered remains makes the case heavily reliant on inference rather than conclusive proof.

Castano faces charges of kidnapping resulting in death, a count that could lead to the death penalty if convicted.

“We entered a plea of not guilty,” Reizenstein said following the proceedings. “We have requested discovery from the government, encompassing all relevant case information, and we have asked to move forward to trial.”

The next hearing is expected to be scheduled next month.

“We anticipate taking this case to trial,” Reizenstein added. “However, a crucial factor remains: whether the government will pursue the death penalty. Should they decide to do so, it will involve extensive coordination among the defense, prosecution, and the court. We are ready to address this, although we fervently hope they do not seek that course of action.”
