Angel headcanons
Expression: Angel wings are very expressive. A exited, happy, ect. angel will have fluttering wings the faster the fluttering the happier, excited, ect. the angel is. Fluttering wings are most common in younger angels over time they may start to gain more control over it but it depends on the person's personality Pit's wings are often seen fluttering while Dark Pit's wings don't really flutter all to much. When angels are scared or uneasy they tend to shift them or wrap their wings around themselves which is comforting as it reminds them of how their parents would comfort and protect them. Affection and parenting: When a angel puts a wing around someone else it is a strong sign of trust or affection. It is also a gesture of protection as angel parents will put their wings around their children to help guard them from danger and the cold. Angel parents are also known to use their wings to help hold their children which is very comforting for the child and is a good way to bond.
Angel children: There are 3 kinds of angel kids. Pure angels, hybrid angels, and regular angels. Pure angels are angels that are made from well purity but they are very difficult to make and are the original angels. Regular angels are the descendants of the pure angels Pit belongs to this group. Hybrid angels are angels that are the children of angels and humans, gods/goddess, and nymphs. Although the god/goddess hybrids were really rare it's debated if they ever existed. Nymph and human hybrids were the most common. When angels are born they are flightless but around the 2-3 month mark they tend to get what are known as flight bursts. I hope I don't have to explain what those are. They tend to last 2-3 minutes but they tend to stop when they turn 1 year old.
Wings: Angel wings are very important not just for expression and flight but their wings are also the main source of their life force so any injury to their wings means pain is doubled. So Pit with his wings on fire major yikes and ouch. Young angel wings are very soft as a result of them not being used to the wind and flight in general. Over time their wings will become less soft as they fly more. You might think this means that angel wings aren't all too soft but that's not the case angel wings are actually quite soft but young angel wings are softer often compared to the texture of cottonballs while older angel wings are compared to the texture of a knit scarf. You also might think this softness makes it difficult for them to swim as you might think this means that they absorb water and make them heavy. While that's half true angel wings actually make them above average swimmers since they can use them to float and occasionally use them to get more speed in the water. But wet wings are heavier and a pain to dry off. Which is why you don't really see Dark Pit in the water too much Pit however loves the water Castella is fine with water as long as it's not too deep.
Dark Pit and Castella: You might have noticed that I haven't really been talking about our favorite black winged duo. That's because they're a bit of a anomaly by angel standards. Dark Pit doesn't fit into any category of angel since he was made from The Mirror Of Truth he is considered to be a new type of angel he's a Mirror Angel and by extension Castella is mirror and goddess hybrid angel but she also doesn't fit into the hybrid category perfectly since Dark Pit is his own angel. But no one really cares what kind they are and are loved anyway (Especially by Palutena).
Pit: You all probably are wondering what my take on our friendly, food loving, loyal, silly boy is and his flightlessness is. Pit was born with a rare defect in his wings making them slightly smaller and the muscles in them are weaker than regular angels. Pit often is seen doing different exercises and when swimming he often uses his wings. If asked about it he will merely respond that he needs to stay in shape and be ready for anything. Not even realizing that he's basically doing physical and aqua therapy. By the time Cas is 5 both Pit and Dark Pit will be soaring through the sky.
