Dark. Comfy. Warm. Safe. Right.
These words filled him as he realized he must have been sleeping. It’d been a while since he’d felt this good after waking up. Sleeping had taken a while to get used to after he’d lost his Grace, but he supposed he’d finally figured out what it was all cracked up to be if he was this comfortable when he woke up.
But as his brain caught up, he also realized that he was sore in places he hadn’t been sore in a while and he tried to figure out what he’d done the day before to make him so sore.
He shrugged the thoughts off as he stretched with a yawn. Gabriel froze as he felt something shift against him and realized he was laying next to someone...or rather snuggled up with them. He smiled lazily, knowing the only way he would be this close with someone in bed was if he’d had sex with them and that would explain the soreness and the fogginess of his brain.
So he nuzzled their neck as he slowly blinked open his eyes. He was slightly surprised to find stubble; it’d been a little while since he’d been with a man in bed. But as his eyes trailed up to his face, Gabriel felt his blood run cold and his heart practically stopped. Wrong.
Gabriel leaned back slowly, even more confused and concerned by what had happened to get him here. Sure, he’d had feelings for his brother and had shown him things when they were both in Heaven, but now that they were both fallen and things were complicated, things were more complicated.
“Oh what have I done?” he whispered. Gabriel figured the only way he’d slept with Castiel was if they were both drunk and didn’t really know what they were doing. That had to be it. He didn’t think the other angel felt that way about anyone, especially not Gabriel. He was in so much trouble once Castiel woke up and figured it out.
