the casting team for yaga must be so (rightfully) smug having landed hudson williams before heated rivalry blew up. they’re getting so many extra eyes on their work now.

4 Lions women: The casting coup!
After watching shivani tomar on and off screen I think Gul generally casts female leads with a personality closer to characters.
Khushi though deeply religious and small town girl is similar to Sanaya. She is a free spirited, crazy and fun loving girl! Sanaya herself agreed to this in one of her interviews with Gul that she is quite similar to Khushi.
Surbhi Chandana, from what I have seen of her off screen, too is quite similar to Anika! Boisterous, peppy and she also seems to speak the Anika language quite a few times. Now if she takes it from Anika or Anika takes it from her?! I am not sure 🤔
Now I have only watched first season of qubool hai and that too under 100 episodes. And from what I have seen Zoya's character, Surbhi J looks pretty similar. Cute and funny(sorry that's all I remember of her. Never really watched the show properly!) Still I think both Surbhi and Zoya have quite a few common traits.
Lastly Shivani Tomar from what I have seen from some of her off screen moments looks a little shy and demure which is pretty similar to Chandni's character as of now and I personally quite like the way she is playing Chandni so far.
I know there are other shows but I haven't watched them so can't comment.
This is why I think Gul gets praise for her casting skills. Half her job is done by finding female leads similar to the character sketch. This is the reason I think she didn't cast Sanaya in the role of Chandni.
Now none of this could be true and I am neither praising nor criticising Gul here! These are simply my thoughts. I can't deny though, so far Gul has nailed these castings.
The actor’s casually masculine manner, which takes after Harrison Ford, is a valuable rarity.

The Best Thing to come out of Hail, Caesar! I like to think my small Tumblr post added to the Collective Conscious that allowed this to happen.
You’re welcome.
