Hit a road block in CC's worldbuilding...
It has to do with the species of the world.
See the plan was to have my original species, the Drakkon, as well as my own spins on several classic fantasy species like fairies, elfs, dwarfs, etc.
But I have realized that I just really don't like using them lol.
This poses a problem as I don't want Drakkons to be the only fantastical species in the story. Now I will still have fairies, but technically in this world they are like related species still the same sort of deal.
Now, I do have a personal project that has the worldbuilding of sometimes people would get physical features from using magic. Different colored eyes, claws, etc. These can be passed down to offspring and the more dramatic features the more powerful magic.
But this has it's own problems.
As creating this world and the mc, Zakon, has help greatly in developing my species. So it feels odd to make him not one. He's like the fourth Drakkon I've made!
There is also a genuine story reason as well. See the whole thing is that Zakon is a villain, but when he gets pregnant he has to lay low to y'know have the baby. But things go off script when he, and others, become murder suspects.
If he has access to his magic, the he'd just murder everybody that was in his way lol. But the thing is, his baby is part fairy. A magic based species and he his a magic eating species. So if he uses too much magic his body might... do something instinctual.
Which won't keep him from murder if he's just a human mage.
I could just keep them, and fae as a whole, in the world. So it would be humans and fae.
Just need to rotate it for a bit to make sure it's what I want...
