OTP? Castle/Beckett, obviously
BrOTP? Alexis/Beckett, but also Rysposito
NoTP? Beckett/Esposito, Alexis/anyone not her age
Gates or Montgomery? Gates (but, Oh Captain, my Captain, I miss Montgomery.)
Favorite episode? The Double Down, the Fifth Man, Demons, Always, almost anything in S5 (except the ending arc)
Least favorite episode? After Hours (I feel like nobody ever talks about this one anymore!)—so many things that didn’t work, and that’s followed closely by TSATQ
Favorite guest star? Probably Laura Prepon—so much comedic gold
Favorite quote? Oh man. I can’t choose just one. So.... random quote that always always makes me laugh: “Separately. Katherine Beckett, I never.”
Favorite Caskett moment? Wowww. Maybe the hardest decision I’ve ever made because I love the little moments just as much as the big ones. The Always kiss, just because without that one moment, we wouldn’t have gotten our amazing fifth, sixth, and (so far) seventh seasons. And also mainly because it’s just so flipping full of emotional and sexual energy. Ugh. So good.
Caskett moment you would have done differently? How? The proposal, hands down. It seemed so… anticlimactic. They have each found the love of their lives in the other person, and the proposal just seemed like a bit of a letdown. I mean, yes, I was thrilled that they were going to get married, but I didn’t want either of them going into it ready for the other person to break with them. Fight for what you have! Come out guns blazing, convinced that what you have is the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to you, and will continue to the best thing for the rest of your lives because you are never letting go of the other person. They’re your person, dangit! Never let them go!
What is your take on the Beckett/Esposito relationship pre-series? Nope. Brother/sister dynamic. Maybe they considered it for an extremely brief moment before they got to know each other, but once they started working together, they both realized that it wasn’t a good fit romantic stylez.
Do you want Caskett babies? Yes and no. As long as it doesn’t get handled as a Bones-style surprise, then I don’t really care either way. (Although, at this point, our show is way past being able to imitate that catastrophe.) I don’t know how the show’s dynamic would work exactly with a baby, but I could see it working out. Martha could watch the baby, and maybe we could bring in Jim Beckett a bit more so that Caskett could continue to work together on cases.
FanFiction recommendation? Dangerous Game and Hunted by Jillian Casey. I love those two fics so impossibly much.
What do you like in a fic? Basically I adore anything that takes place in S4, but I also love ridiculous amounts of angst and tension that can lead to amazing explosions of passion/love between C/B. Humor is also a plus, especially if the author can capture the Caskett dynamic without making it seem cheesy, but a lot of authors struggle with that without making it OOC.
One wish for season 7? A wedding. With real vows, and an insanely happy Caskett and talking about a future with kids. Not necessarily because I want to actually see the kids right away, but because talking about the future is what responsible adults do. And also tons more Alexis/Beckett bonding and honesty. I love those moments. (And I affectionately refer to them as KBex/Lex moments.)
