Innesfallen Castle

Innesfallen Castle is located in Castle Cove suburb in the City of Willoughby in New South Wales, Australia. The gothic style home was built in 1903-04 by the Willis family. Henry Hastings Willis was a former Member and Speaker of the Parliament of New South Wales. The house was named in honor of a ruined abbey in Killarney, Ireland. The sandstone home has block walls, a central porch with three arches, and a crenelated parapet and turrets overlooking Fig Cove Bay. The house boasts park-like grounds, a 20-meter swimming pool, a tennis court, and panoramic views of Sydney. The Willis family sold the estate in 1988 to current owner, lawyer, and former Olympic water polo player Peter Montgomery. Although privately owned, the just over two-acre estate was heritage-listed in 1999. The eight-bedroom property has four baths, a gym, a wine cellar, a grand timber vestibule, glazed doors, decorative ceiling plasterwork, hardwood flooring, and marble fireplaces. The house is connected via a covered patio to another three-bedroom building. The home was on the market for $25 million in November 2020, but it didn’t sell and is currently off-market.
