Imagine: You met Alucard when you were both young, two lost souls forming a connection of trust and love. You've been together for what felt like ages now, growing and learning as you traverse the passage of time together. Except as you steadily age—hair growing whiter, wrinkles slowly appearing in places they never were, joints beginning to ache and slow you down—Alucard never does. Not physically at least.
Mentally the toll of living has already taken root, shifting his thinking from immature thoughts he once had when he was younger. Still, his appearance more or less remains the same. No wrinkles, no aching joints. He moves just as well as he did thirty years ago. Instead he's met with the realization that while he doesn't age, courtesy of his father's vampire nature, he's instead forced to watch the one person he loves grow old and wither away beside him.
You know it dampens his spirit. There are days where he will plan activities for the two of you, hiking in the woods and having a picnic like the two of you used to do, except your body doesn't work as it used to. You're forced to take frequent breaks from aching joints and weak muscles while he stands there with his hands holding you up. It's during times like that, that you see the heartbreak settle deep into his eyes even as he gives you a gentle smile.
Still, he doesn't leave you. You are his person and he refuses to leave you even as the years rush by and leave your lungs wheezing with every breath you take. Eventually you are bed bound, body too weak to allow you a proper life anymore. You're gray and wrinkled, deep smile lines proving the happy life you lived with the man you loved.
One evening after a nice dinner you two wish each other a goodnight and fall asleep together, his arms curled around you even still.
In the morning he wakes up to find a cold body beside his, a small content smile frozen onto your face.
He thinks that's the moment his heart truly breaks.
Hii! How are you? I hope you’re doing great how about a cure little scenario of alucard x female reader where alucard is developing feelings for readers but him being a dhampir is making him have doubts about her returning his feelings since she’s a vampire hunter (they get along with a eachother tho since they fight the same enemies) just a cute little hurt comfort one shot if you don’t mind my request also don’t forget to take care of yourself! Have a great day🤍
OOOOOOH I LOVE THIS IDEA!! Our boy just needs a break for real😭
Uhh, tw for slight darker themes? Im not sure. Mostly just hurt and angsty, though! We love pining and desperate alucard <3
--- this is sorta crap---
Alucard stood against the railing of his castle, waiting for you to return. He knows you're probably out there fighting some creature with trevor and sypha and he's not quite sure why he didn't go with you.
The moon is very much high and sparkling when you return, smelling of metal and blood. All you see when you come into Alucard's room is him on his balcony, and you know he's deep in thought by the way his fingers fiddle at his sides.
"Adriān?" You say softly.
You don't seem to break him out of his trance, but he's noticed you enough to turn his head a little to the side as he waits for you to come up beside him.
Alucard doesn't say anything, but his eyes tell you everything you need to know. He's been here waiting for you to come back.
"How long have you been up here?"
Alucard sighs. "Long enough, I smelt the blood on you before you even left to come back here"
"Adriān, we've talked about this, you don't have to wait up for me, you know that"
But he wants to. More than anything in this world that bothers alucard, the thing that bothers him the most is not knowing whether you'll live or die. Alucard fears his own mind before anything else, letting the worst thoughts get into his head and only seeing you would bring them away. And he hates it. He feels as though if you knew that he almost suffocates without you here, you would think he was pathetic and cowardly.
"It's not like i sleep anyways," he chuckled.
"Fine you win this time"
The questions lingers around on your tongue as it pops into your head. You don't want to ask it but seeing Alucard's bright and pearly face smiling down at the moon lit forest, somehow you feel this is the right time to ask him.
"Did you do this with other people you cared about too?"
Alucard's eyes flicker with something immeasurably unsure. He doesn't know what to say to that. Obviously, he has cared about people before, and he's always worrying about trevor and sypha and what their doing. But he can't say he's stood up like this for any past lovers and he isn't going to say that because he knows your not a lover.
Friend, co hunter, everything but a lover.
"Yes, I have. I suppose nothing to this extent as quite, but i have had people to worry about" alucards voice is tense but soft in the way he says it.
"And what about your past lovers?" You asked him.
"My past lovers...well... most of them were just regular people. And I did love them, though too long, and most of them died before I had a chance to marry them"
You regret asking him. You can see how much your question has affected him by how tense his voice is and the tightness in his muscles. How his voice doesn't sound like a whisper anymore but more of a poet reading to his own piece of paper.
"Im sorry, alucard, i didn't mean to -"
"Stop" he holds up a sharp nail. "It's alright. No apology needed darling",
"Could you ever fall in love with me the way you did with them?"
You don't know what came over you to ask him that, maybe it was the nonsense spilling into your brain about 'ask him now before it's too late' maybe you just were too impatient to wait and see if the man you'd had fallen for over a decade has gained any sense of love for you.
"Of course. Gods above i-"
Alucard stopped himself. Like he had been forcibly silenced by an unknown force. Or maybe the thought of what happened to his mother could happen to her too. And alucard would end up just like his father, but instead of burning the village, he would burn the world.
"Adriān please just tell me" you spoke softly as you put your hand on his cheek.
Cold to the touch but barely tinged pink. Alucard's cool golden eyes met yours as he shifted his position so he was standing infront of you.
"Yes, yes of course I could love you...i-...I do. I do love you. Like nothing else has ever loved before, I am utterly and completely fallen for you"
Alucard dropped to his knees before you. You were shook at what you were seeing. Before you could do anything else, the sound of his cries softly tuned out the gentle rain coming down. You knelt before him.
"Adriān...why do you cry?"
"I am a monster, and I have fallen for you" he says through shaking breaths.
"You are not a monster, Adriān tepes" you tell him. "You are capable of love just as I am"
Alucard looks at you through long eyelashes and glossy gold eyes. It's almost like he's begging for you to say it. Just once. If only for a minute. He would slice his own throat out if that's what it took to hear you say it.
That you love him too.
"You know i love you too, right? More than anything on this earth" you smiled at him.
"Why?" Is all he can say.
"Because your you...you are my adriān. My alucard. You have faught gracefully and powerfully beside me no matter what the cost, I would be stupid to not love you"
Alucard didn't know what to do, as you helped him up and wiped his tears away there was only one thing he felt like saying.
"Please...don't call me alucard again. Adriān sounds better from you"
It made you chuckle that even in the emotional and heartfelt moment you two were having, he still managed to find the humor in it somewhere. And that's what you loved about him.
"Promise I'll never do it again" you laughed. "Oh adriān tepes you fool"
The morning mist still clung like a shroud to the ancient trees as Elira crossed the narrow ravine that marked the end of her village’s dwindling farmlands. The earth beneath her boots was soft, waterlogged from recent rains, and the scent of damp moss and decaying leaves filled the heavy air. The forest ahead loomed dark and untamed, tangled with thorned vines and sunless glades where even the hardiest of wildflowers dared not bloom. Branches scraped at her cloak and tangled in her hair as she pressed forward, each step sinking slightly into the thick mud, the cold seeping through her worn leather boots whose soles were cracked and thinning from years of use. Every footfall seemed to echo the desperate hope of a village that had long since lost faith in the land’s ability to feed them.
Her satchel, a patched and battered thing she had sewn herself from scraps of old canvas, hung heavily at her side, its weight a constant reminder of what she carried — fragile glass jars filled with cracked soil samples, blighted leaves curled with rot, and fruit half-consumed by mold. The faint, sour smell of decay trailed her like a ghost, a tangible reminder of the blight spreading like a sickness not just in the earth, but through the very bones of her home. She’d gathered every last specimen herself, her hands raw and scratched from the thorny brush, as the fields her family had tended for generations turned to dust and despair.
Behind her, the faint echo of distant voices rose from the ruins of the village she had left behind. Somewhere in a crumbling kitchen, her parents were likely locked in another bitter argument. Not about her absence — they scarcely noticed when she left or returned — but about the cruel gods they believed had cursed their land, punishing them with a daughter instead of the son they’d longed for. A son to carry on the farm, to fight the rot with plow and sweat, while she had only brought questions and whispered fears. Their words, harsh and unyielding, had chased her into the wilderness, but she did not look back.
"If no one else will fix this," she muttered under her breath, brushing a rebellious lock of sun-bleached hair from her freckled forehead, the dirt beneath her nails a testament to all she had endured, "I will."
The stories of the castle had come to her on a gust of wind, carried by an old traveling scholar who’d passed through the village months ago, his robes dusty and eyes sharp as flint. He spoke of a fortress perched on a mountain peak, surrounded by swirling mists and impossible magics, a place where time itself seemed to twist and fold. A place once feared by demons and men alike, ruled now by a solitary figure whispered to be part monster, part god. A castle filled with tomes older than the oldest trees, knowledge that reached beyond mortal memory, where the secrets to healing might lie hidden in dust and shadow.
"No one sane goes to that place," the baker had warned her when she asked for directions to the ruins. His voice was low, heavy with superstition and fear. "That vampire lives alone with his madness now. Puts bodies on pikes like it means something. They say he’s lost what little humanity he had left."
She had thanked him anyway, nodding politely, her mind set like iron.
Elira pressed onward.
The journey was long and unforgiving. Two days of walking, slipping, and clawing her way through overgrown paths and shattered remnants of villages long claimed by fire and neglect. She passed burnt-out homes, their skeletons blackened and empty, a stark testament to the violence that had ravaged the land. What had once been thriving communities now lay silent, swallowed by weeds and the cruel passage of time. The trail narrowed from worn roads to faint deer paths, and then disappeared altogether beneath a wild tangle of brambles and moss-covered stones.
Where there was no path, she made one — her fingers raw from pushing aside thorny vines, her legs scratched by sharp branches. Her hunter’s cloak, heavy with mud and the dried blood of a rabbit she’d caught and eaten cold beneath a shroud of stars, hung unevenly from her shoulders, but she hardly noticed. Her green eyes, bright and unyielding, never flicked back toward the smoke-stained horizon she had left behind.
Every moment, every mile, carried the weight of those she sought to save — a village starving in silence, lives hanging by threads woven from hope and desperation. The sun warmed her back, but the chill of fear knotted deep in her belly.
Elira walked on.
𝑐𝘩𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑤𝑜; 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑠
Dusk bled slowly into night as Elira finally crested the last ridge and saw the castle before her—a jagged silhouette etched stark against the bruised sky. The fortress rose from the rocky bedrock like a terrible wound, its spires clawing at the heavens with sharp angles and impossible geometry. Dark stone, worn smooth by centuries, seemed almost alive beneath the waning light, shifting and shimmering faintly as if breathing. It was a place out of time, part myth, part nightmare—ancient and eternal.
The air around it was thick with magic, heavy and metallic, tasting faintly of copper and cold stone on the tongue. It vibrated against her skin, settling deep in her bones like a warning or a curse. The familiar scents of earth and pine were swallowed by something colder, something older and harsher.
And then there were the bodies.
Staked into the ground outside the castle gates with eerie, unyielding symmetry were at least a dozen human figures. Men and women, impaled on wooden spikes so cruel and precise their placement suggested deliberate, ritualistic cruelty. Some wore battered armor, the kind worn by soldiers or knights. Others were dressed in plain, tattered clothing—farmers, travelers, common folk. Their faces frozen in twisted expressions of agony, or sometimes peaceful resignation. The silent testimony of lives ended with brutal finality.
Elira halted in her tracks, breath caught in her throat.
Her stomach churned violently, twisting as bile rose unbidden. She pressed a trembling hand over her mouth, eyes wide and unblinking. Her heart hammered loud enough that she was certain it could be heard echoing off the cold stones.
It would be madness to go further.
Yet as the wind whispered through the trees behind her, cold and still and mournful, Elira felt the crushing weight of every word ever spoken to her—the warnings, the dismissals, the doubt. That she was foolish. That she was weak. That she didn’t belong.
Wasn’t that what everyone thought of her?
She swallowed the bitter taste of fear.
She looked up at the towering iron gate, its spiked arches looming like jaws ready to devour. The black metal was slick with moisture, glistening under the darkening sky. Beyond the gates, the castle’s windows were empty eyes, reflecting only shadow.
Then she glanced back toward the forest, now swallowed by night. No birds sang. No leaves rustled in the chill breeze. Even the wind itself seemed to hold its breath, as if the entire world was waiting.
And still, she took a step forward.
Then another.
Her boots sunk slightly into the cold, damp earth as she moved past the grotesque sentinels.
She lowered her gaze and bowed her head slightly, a quiet, reverent gesture to the dead.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, voice cracked but steady. “But I can’t turn back.”
The crunch of her footsteps on gravel echoed beneath the vaulted silence as she approached the great stone steps that led to the castle’s entrance. Her hand trembled as she raised it, knuckles rapping sharply against the heavy oak door—an ancient guardian unyielding and unmoved.
No answer.
Only the oppressive silence swallowed her call.
The sky darkened further, a thick canopy of storm clouds gathering overhead like a shroud. The air grew colder, a sharp wind slicing through the lingering warmth of the day. It rattled the loose stones around her feet and tugged at her cloak.
But still she waited.
The seconds stretched to minutes. The minutes to hours.
Her fingers curled tighter around the strap of her satchel as she pulled her cloak closer, folding herself against the cold stone of the courtyard.
She lowered herself to sit, chin resting on her knees, arms curled protectively around her legs. Her muscles ached from the day’s journey; exhaustion clung to her like a second skin. Her stomach twisted painfully in hunger, empty for too long.
Yet her eyes refused to leave the towering doors before her.
The night deepened around her, alive with unseen whispers and shifting shadows.
A chill rain began to fall, soft at first, then harder—each drop striking the stone courtyard with a muted percussion.
The rain came and went, the cold settling deep into the bones of the castle, seeping into her skin.
But still, Elira did not move.
𝑐𝘩𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝘩𝑟𝑒𝑒; 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒
From a polished mirrored panel tucked deep within the castle’s labyrinthine corridors—one among dozens hidden like watchful eyes—Adrian Tepes observed her. The surface shimmered faintly, a thin veil between two worlds, reflecting the dim flicker of torchlight that danced in the chamber behind him.
He was no stranger to visitors; this was not the first soul to seek the fortress’s shadowed wisdom. Nor was it the first who had come unarmed, vulnerable, and alone. Many came driven by desperation, curiosity, or a foolish hope they clung to like a lifeline. But she was the first to simply wait. To linger like a stubborn flame against the chill.
Adrian stood still in the scrying chamber, the vast room cloaked in twilight and shadow. His arms were crossed loosely over his chest, an unconscious posture that both shielded and revealed his brooding tension. Golden eyes narrowed beneath heavy lids, sharp and calculating as a predator’s. The silvered strands of his long blond hair, still damp from a bath taken not out of necessity but habit, framed his pale face and fell loosely over his shoulders. His deep red robe hung around him like liquid silk, sleeves pooling at his wrists like water, the fabric shifting softly with every subtle movement.
He had shed the weight of armor and battle, but the heaviness in his heart remained, a burden etched deep beneath skin and bone.
Elira’s figure appeared fragile from the mirror’s vantage—thin and sun-darkened by relentless days under a harsh sun, her shoulders slumped with exhaustion yet stubbornly defiant. There was something in the set of her jaw, the way she wrapped herself in her cloak against the rain, that ignited a flicker of recognition he despised.
Another bleeding heart. Another idealist.
She would ask questions, too many questions—too bright a smile, too much pity for a man who had long stopped believing he deserved kindness.
He felt the old sting of resentment flare anew.
Turning away from the mirror, his back to the haunting image, he weighed the bitterness swelling in his chest. Let her freeze in the night. Let the cold drive her away. Let the weight of this ancient place crush her spirit until she fled back to the ruins from which she came.
He had extended mercy before—given words and knowledge to those who begged. To Sumi and Taka, once. And look where that had led him: betrayal, death, the sight of their broken bodies impaled in front of these very walls.
Why risk it again?
The castle was meant to be a tomb, a sanctuary for his solitude. No more.
Hours passed, flickers of torchlight fading to the slow creep of dawn.
When he dared glance back at the mirrored panel, she remained. Still curled in her sodden cloak, rain-darkened hair plastered to her face, arms wrapped tight around knees drawn close to her chest. No longer merely foolish, no longer just hopeful—she had become something else entirely.
A ghost.
A determined one.
The thought came unbidden. Unwelcome.
Mother.
The idea whispered through his mind like a curse and a blessing all at once.
He clenched his jaw, the muscles taut beneath pale skin, and spun away again—determined to deny the pain that threatened to unravel him.
But in the silence of that shadowed chamber, Elira’s stubborn presence lingered like a thorn in his heart.
The morning dawned gray and brittle, the world wrapped in a shroud of cold mist that clung to the stones and seeped into the bones of the ancient castle. The air was sharp, carrying a hint of frost that made each breath a visible plume, fragile and fleeting against the heavy silence. The wind whispered through the towering battlements, tugging at Elira’s damp cloak and stirring the loose strands of her sun-kissed hair.
She stirred slowly from her uneasy rest on the hard, uneven courtyard stones, every muscle protesting with stiffness and soreness. Her eyelids fluttered open, heavy as parchment, the pale light filtering through the heavy mist casting the courtyard in a ghostly, silver-blue hue.
Her gaze immediately fell to the massive iron doors before her—those forbidding gates she had knocked upon hours ago, and the long night through which she had waited, unmoving, watching, willing.
They were open.
Just wide enough.
A narrow sliver, like a quiet breath drawn between the castle’s cold, unyielding walls.
Elira’s heart hammered fiercely in her chest, an erratic drumbeat echoing in her ears. Her fingers trembled as she pushed herself into a slow, deliberate sitting position, the rough stone biting into her skin through her thin cloak. She swallowed hard, the dryness of her throat making the simple act of breathing a conscious effort.
She rose with painstaking care, muscles stiff and uncooperative, and lifted the worn satchel from where it lay beside her. The leather strap creaked softly as she slung it back over her shoulder, the glass jars inside shifting and clinking with a familiar, comforting sound.
Her breath caught in her throat as she took a tentative step forward, crossing the threshold between shadow and light.
The castle swallowed her whole.
𝑐𝘩𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑟; 𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑛𝑐𝘩𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔
The air inside the castle was colder than the night outside—not because of frost or chill, but because the vast stone walls seemed to swallow sound whole, leaving only a hollow echo behind. Each step Elira took was a cautious echo in the cavernous hallways, the soles of her worn boots clicking softly on the cold, polished floors. Her breath was visible, a faint mist curling and vanishing as it brushed the ancient air.
Her eyes roamed warily, taking in the cathedral-like grandeur of the castle’s interior. High vaulted ceilings arched overhead, their ribs disappearing into shadows as thick as velvet. The dim light filtering through stained-glass windows splashed the stone walls in muted blues and reds, casting fractured pools of color that danced on dust motes floating in the air. Shadows clung to the edges of the corridor, snaking along columns like the skeletal fingers of long-forgotten sentinels, whispering secrets Elira wasn’t sure she wanted to hear.
Though magnificent, the space felt hollow—grand and empty, like a body bereft of its soul. The silence pressed down on her chest heavier than any winter chill. She tightened her grip on the satchel slung across her shoulder, feeling its weight like a tether to reality, a reminder of why she had come.
Her heart thrummed with a mixture of awe, fear, and a stubborn resolve. This place, this castle—this was no mere ruin or relic. It was a fortress of knowledge, a bastion of power and history, but also a prison for a man she had only heard whispered about: Adrian Tepes, the half-vampire son of Dracula.
Her footsteps echoed again as she rounded the corner and entered a vast chamber—the castle’s library. Shelves groaned under the weight of ancient tomes, scrolls, and leather-bound manuscripts piled high like silent sentinels of wisdom. The scent of old parchment, dust, and a faint, almost imperceptible trace of incense filled the air.
And there, standing motionless amidst the shadows and colored light, was Alucard.
He faced away from her, the stained-glass window casting shards of color over his pale, noble profile. His long blond hair spilled loose over his shoulders, catching glimmers of crimson and sapphire like threads of moonlight caught in a web. Unlike the regal bearing one might expect, his clothes were disheveled: his coat hung open, the linen shirt beneath untucked and creased as if he had worn it for days without change. Yet there was something statuesque in his stillness—an eerie poise, as if he was carved from the very stone that surrounded them.
Elira’s throat tightened. Gathering her courage, she cleared it softly, forcing her voice steady against the pounding of her heart.
“I know why you’re thinking of turning me away,” she said, her words slicing through the silence. “But I’m not here to beg for shelter or safety. I need knowledge.”
He turned slowly, the motion deliberate, almost reluctant, as though awakening from a long slumber. His eyes—pale gold, sharp and unreadable like molten metal—met hers. There was a depth to them, a cold stillness that was more than physical; it was the aura of someone who hovered halfway between life and death, caught in the endless twilight of his cursed existence.
“Then you’ve come to the wrong place,” Alucard said quietly, voice low and edged with weary warning. “Knowledge has a cost. One you likely cannot afford.”
Elira stepped forward, reaching into her satchel with deliberate calm. Her fingers closed around a small, rough burlap pouch. Without hesitation, she spilled its contents onto a nearby table—darkened leaves brittle with decay, roots mottled with mold, and soil thick with the stench of rot.
“My town is dying,” she said, voice raw but unwavering. “Crops blighted beyond repair, the soil turning to mud, water fouled with sickness. I heard this castle held books—scientific ones, alchemical, even magical. I’ll read every page if I have to. I have to.”
His gaze lingered on the samples, eyes narrowing as he examined the tainted remnants of her world. For a long moment, his lips pressed into a thin line, then softened imperceptibly. It wasn’t quite interest. Nor was it dismissal.
“Famine,” he muttered, almost to himself.
She nodded, voice quiet but resolute. “I’ve already lost friends to it. I won’t lose more.”
He said nothing for a beat, turning back to the sprawling volume in his hands, as if weighing some invisible burden. His words came low, a thread of frost in the silence. “Do what you want. Just don’t bleed on anything.”
The chill in his tone was unmistakable, but beneath it lay a grudging allowance—a subtle shift in the balance of power in the room. Elira’s chest tightened, hope flickering like a candle’s flame against the encroaching darkness.
AN: I had a bit of a hard time with the appropriate trigger warnings for these earlier chapters, so dont hesitate to correct me or suggest other warnings if you believe they should be added!
hey there, right out of the box a bit angsty but how do you think Varney (castlevania) would handle being with a human who is at the end of their lifespan. yk, given that he's death himself, and under the assumption that he did genuinely care for them, how would he handle the days coming up to their death?
IM BACK AFTER A WRITING BLOCK- (i had a lot going on)
anyways. ONWARDS BITCHES
Yarney x Reader (Angst) Head cannons.
-as you know him being death hes FULLY aware that You're on the brink of dying.
-Because of the way he acts in the Netflix you might think he gives 0 shits and only tries to bring Dracula (my precious) back yada yada.
-But in all honesty. he's just crumbling up inside.
-he's all "oh fuck..why now. why now suddenly? They weren't supposed to die so early!"
-Just depressed boy hours.
-Wouldnt admit his sorrow and sadness because he has a reputation to keep since he's the big and scary death
-But since day 1 where you showed up. oh boy u scooped him away.
-And now you suddenly gonna go? It hits him deep.
-He knew in the beginning if he's gonna spend the rest of his days with you, you won't last long.
-Humans have a short lifespan. we all know that.
-So all he will do is spend the rest of your days with tons of gifts, him showing u as much affection as possible and get you to see beautiful places before you perish on him.
Blinking neon lights from the bustling Chinatown outside illuminated the bedroom. You could make out the silhouette of the knocked out man next to you. The top sheet barely covered his hips, hiding nothing from your gaze, and the smirk that seemed to plastered upon his peaceful face made you chuckle quietly before the deep ache of loneliness creeped in.
This man literally fucked you stupid and made you feel wanted in your own skin, fat rolls and dimpled thighs included. You knew that you weren’t the preferences of chiseled gods like him during daylight hours, but you knew gods like him always wanted to be with a girl that was only beautiful after 10:15. The only type of girl men like him loved at night. So you grew into your mid thirties learning to hit it and quit it and became closed off to the wonderful idea that you were meant for…feelings.
Standing quietly and moving with the finesse of a trained ninja you gathered your clothes and your heavy Doc Martens. Once you slipped on the easy dress and your jacket you looked one more time at the man illuminated by the red neon lights…then you left out his door. Disappearing into the throngs of souls upon the street you hugged yourself and tried to hide the body you hated. The usual intrusive negative thoughts of post nut clarity began to hit and you rushed home so you could shower and scrub off the remnants of the false hopes of men like him.
With the scalding shower and your skin now scrubbed the feel of the oversized hockey jersey hiding your body you finally lay in bed. Plugging your phone in and feeling the promise of a small amount of serenity encroaching. You stared at the ceiling, you hugged yourself once more, and could feel the pricks of tears. It was the curse of being in a bigger body…you were pretty enough for nighttime false kisses and whispers…doomed for the loneliness and revolting aversion to the promise of romance you passed by daily.
It wasn’t that you were mad at the world…you were just mad that you were never good enough. So here you lay in your bed…in your shitty little apartment…watching the lights from the busy streets light up your ceiling. You knew that men like him would never give you the time of day…but you smiled knowing you got to keep those false kisses and whispers to fill your stories to cover the fact your loneliness was real and give you the jaded view that love perhaps wasn’t real.
So you fall asleep smiling with tears and loneliness ripping through the fibers of your heart as you remember the way his large palms caressed and made you feel wanted. The way he kissed you so deeply and the way he made you feel like a goddess…you thought about that smirk and the laughter…you dreamed of what was never meant to be.
WOW This is a VERY old submission from @ekaterinatepes oops
I hope it met what you were looking for. 😅
Thank you for the request.

The trio have just arrived in yet another rundown town after traveling for a week. There has been word of disappearances at night and believed to be due to a monster in the woods.
The horses huff as they are pulled to a stop on the outside of the town square near an inn. Getting off the cart to stretch, the shaggy man yawns.
“You know going from one shit hole to the next just never gets old. Am I right?”
“Trevor.” Sypha sighs, shaking her head at the Belmont’s crude description.
The next morning the three of them wandered around the town getting some food for their time there and speaking to some locals that have stories or rumors of the suspected monster to tell. The two men walked ahead of the speaker that hung back looking at all the little things in each shop stand.
At the end of the night Trevor and Alucard retired to the inn for supper before they started their work. Roughly forty minutes after the duo were wondering about Sypha’s whereabouts she appeared but accompanied by you.
The two of you walk in arms slung over one another, laughing and chatting. The men just stare at you both confused.
“Are you leaving me for a woman now, Sypha? Or are you perhaps recruiting a bedmate for the night?” The rugged man smirks jokingly, making the fawn haired woman shake her head, dismissing him with a wave.
“Boys, this is Y/n, she is a fellow speaker. Small world, huh? It’s been roughly six years since we last saw each other.” The man you came to know as Trevor introduced himself and you waited for the golden haired man to do the same. But he just looked at you, silently, for a minute longer than felt comfortable before Trevor bumped him back alive.
“Oh, my apologies. I am Adrian Tepes, it’s lovely to meet you Ms. Y/n.” His formalities make you blush with a small giggle.
After that the two of you had spent many nights chatting about anything and everything, or ‘geeked out’ as Trevor saw it. The more he spoke the more attractive he became to you. Not only was he handsome but also incredibly smart. Speaking of things you’ve never even heard of before and hearing stories that made you laugh till your sides hurt. You loved every moment you had with him and you knew he felt the same over the month they were there in the village. Then one day Alucard informed you that their work there has been finished and will be heading off soon.
Your heart fractured a bit at the idea of him leaving.
The night before they are set off to leave you snuck into the room the three of them were boarding in and crawled close to the Dhamphir’s cot. Shaking him slightly he stirs awake.
“Y/n?” You shush him.
“Adrian come with me, I want to show you something.”
“Is everything alright?” You melt at his concern so you just smile and nod your head.
“Yes, just come with me before we wake the others.”
Alucard follows you down a trail into the woods where you will reach a clif point looking over a vast plain with trees and a lake in the middle. The sky looked magical in the twilight. It looks like a kaleidoscope of purples and blues and bright white stars freckle across the sky in swirling patterns. The blonde beside you looks at the view in awe.
“This is my secret place I go when I need some space.” You say looking at the moon lit sky. He turns his face to you, admiring the cast of light on your features.
“Then why did you think to bring me here? Makes it a little less secret.” He laughs.
“Perhaps. But in exchange it makes it a bit more special.”
A few minutes pass in comfortable silence, allowing your words to sink into his heart.
“You’re leaving tomorrow.”
“Yes I am.” He attempted to be neutral about it but the melancholy managed to seep out through his words.
“Well I’d regret it if you left and I didn’t do this-.” Without another word you turn towards Alucard and pull his face to yours. Connecting your lips to his soft ones he is studded for a moment before resting his hands on your waist, pulling you closer to him.
From the first kiss to the many that had followed that night on the lookout there was an unavoidable spark between you. It felt more right than anything should have a right to feel. Like two perfectly fitting puzzle pieces that finally found each other. Before either of you realize it you're stripping each other and joining your bodies. From the moment you first spoke to each other nothing felt rushed or awkward. Just right.
You were meant to be held flushed to his naked form, breathing in his hot air. Tasting his mouth, exploring eachothers frames with delicate touches. Absorbing every morsel that the two of you had to offer.
As the rays of the not yet risen sun peaks over the horizon the two of you still lie at the exposed opening of the forest's edge. Tangled limbs with only his long cloak to shield you from the crisp morning air. Opening your eyes you glance up to see Alucard’s warm eyes and sweet smile. Brushing the hair from your eyes back he places a soft kiss on your forehead.
The two of you sit there gazing into each other's souls in silence, drinking up what remaining time you had with each other.
“I’m sorry I have to leave you like this.” He finally breaks the silence. You press your fingers to his lips, silencing his mournful words.
“Last night was perfect, don’t tarnish it with apologies.” Sliding up his chest, connecting your lips once more, you wrap your hands around his head, tangling your fingers in his soft hair. His arms circle tightly around your back as if he was hoping to permanently join your bodies by doing so.
Once fully clothed and a few more kisses the two of you make your way back to the inn hoping to have made it back before the others had risen. But alas when you pass the start of the forest you can see them loading the cart up in the distance.
“Well, well, well. You’re in very big trouble young man. Sneaking out in the middle of the-.” Trevor halts his mocking disappointment when he turns to see you unexpectedly with the blond man. Looking between the two of you a toothy grin pulls at his lips. “Well what do we have here?” Arms crossed playfully, Sypha walks over yawning to question what Trevor is going on about again.
“What are you- oh hey, Y/n. Come to see us off?”
“Well I don’t know about us but I think I have a pretty good idea of where Mr. Uptight went last night. All night, ay?” You turn your face in embarrassment of Trevor’s poking. Sypha just looks at you with widened eyes before excusing herself with you alongside her.
The boys finished packing up as you dished to her about the whole night. The passion between you. How you felt you had ascended to a different world in his arms. All of it.
“Oh my god.” Is all she could say. Nudging you with a smile. “Y/n, you naughty women. Not even a second date before you stripped him bare, huh?”
“Sypha!” You scold before recollecting yourself. “It wasn’t like that. I really care for him and it pains me to see him go.” You hold back a few tears that threaten to seep from your eyes. You begin to walk back to their cart trying not to let your sorrow show in your expression.
“Then why don’t you join us?” You stop in your tracks at her offer.
“What? I can’t-.”
“Of course you can. I know you can fight and besides I could use another woman in the group. It gets tiring to hear those two bicker all the time.” She rolls her eyes in the very Sypha way.
After accepting the two of you walk up to a scene of Trevor still joking about Alucard’s late night tryst and his trying to shut him up but the moment his eyes fall onto yours he’s the one that silences.
“Good news! Boys, welcome our new member!” Sypha says with hands fanned before you dramatically.
She corralled Trevor away so you and Alucard could talk. Walking up to you he holds your waist, golden eyes of concern look into yours.
“You can’t come with us.” Your heart stops at his words.
“Why not? I thought you- cause last night-.” You look down brushing a strand of hair back about to feel embarrassed because perhaps last night wasn’t for him as it was for you. He cups your cheek and directs you to look back at him.
“Last night was amazing. You’re amazing. I just-.” He sighs looking down before meeting your eyes again. “I just don’t want you to get hurt because I think I’ve fallen for you which I know sounds-” You cut him off. His confession restarted your heart and you crashed your lips against his, uncaring of who sees. A little whistle and holler come over from the two watching you both.
“It doesn’t sound like anything. I’ve fallen for you as well, Adrian. So very hard that I didn’t have a second thought of jumping for it when Sypha offered me to join you guys. Life is full of many dangers but there is only one of you. So I think I’ll take my chances if that’s okay with you.” There was no proper verbal response Alucard could’ve given to adequately express how much he agreed. So he settled for tasting your lips once more.
Then it’s official, that day the monster fighting trio became a quartette. Sitting on the back of the cart, your head resting on Alucard’s shoulder as the two of you watch the village you had called home for many years disappear into the landscape.

Life on the road with the gang was never a dull moment to say the least, however nothing quite beat coming back to Alucard’s Castle to get a break from the constant fighting. To actually rest your sore muscles in a real bed was amazing and made even better with the man you love alongside you.
One week Sypha and Trevor left together to gather proper supplies for their next mission allowing you and Alucard some alone time together. Everything was as you’ve dreamed of for a life with him. Mornings making breakfast together and long conversations at night in bed or in a hot bath and some relations that needed little taking just each other's touch.
That was until they showed up.
Coming down the staircase you hear Alucard speaking to someone. As you get closer to the kitchen you begin to make out two unfamiliar voices.
“Adrian?” You open the door to see him sitting with a man and woman at the dining table. Getting up he places a hand on your lower back with a smile.
“This is Y/n I had told you two about. My love, this is Taka and Sumi, they will be staying with us for a time.” The two nod their heads politely to you.
“Nice to meet you.” You respond in kind.
You held back from talking to Alucard about it till that night as to not be rude.
“Weren’t you going to at least talk to me about this?” You ask closing his bedroom door. He turns in his desk chair with a raised brow to you.
“Talk about what, my love?”
“About them staying here.” You say sitting on the edge of the bed.
“There is nothing to talk about, Y/n. They need help and besides there is plenty of space here for them to stay.”
“Space is not the issue I’m worried about, Adrian. I’m a little more worried about the fact that you just invited strangers to live under the same roof as us without as much as a notice to me.”
“You don’t know them.”
“Adrain, neither do you.” You stand back up looking at the Dhampir slumped in his chair, pinching his nose.
“They have a goal to slay the Vampires who are tormenting their people. They came seeking my guidance and wisdom.” You’re almost rendered speechless and can't help but laugh in disbelief.
Crossing the room you kneel before him and take his hands in yours.
“Adrian I love you and your heart is just as beautiful as the rest of you but I don’t trust them. I mean you just said it yourself, they’re vampire hunters how can you be sure that they-.” Alucard cuts you off.
“They didn’t come to harm me.”
“How can you be so sure that what they say is true?” Your eyes are pleading for him to reconsider.
“I have a feeling.”
“Well your feeling is wrong!” Your anger built up of not feeling heard finally boils over. Standing before him you cross your arms. “Had you never even considered how I would feel about them? Isn’t it strange how they just seemed to pop up out of nowhere?” Now Alucard is standing.
“Y/n, my mother had raised me to help others and to always pursue a path of spreading knowledge to aid. There are just some things that don’t always concern you. This is my castle and I am the one to say who does and does not stay here.”
His words made you pause and take a step back, pursing your lips before a bitter smile playing on your lips.
“You’re right. This is your castle.” Alucard soon realizes what he had said.
“Love, I-.” He tries to soothe but you stop him by raising your hands.
“No, you’re right. Say no more, perhaps I should go where I am needed for a time cause it seems you have everything figured out here.”
“Y/n, that’s not what I meant.” You give him a tight lipped smile.
“You didn’t say anything wrong. I just think it’d be best that I leave with Trevor and Sypha tomorrow when they return. Good night, Adrian.” You say before leaving him alone in his chambers.
It was the first night you had slept without your lover in months. It felt weird and you weren’t alone in that feeling.
After your chat with Sypha about the arrangements to leave at dusk you walk down the hall and run into him. You smile awkwardly at each other. Last Night was the first time you two ever fought like that. It had always been either playful or just plain bickering that got settled sooner than it had started with a kiss. But this was different and demanded a conversation to resolve it.
“Can I have a word with you?” He tentatively asks. You nod and direct the two of you into your nearby room.
“Adrian-”
“No. Please, let me start.” You nod your head and lean against the edge of your bed. The blonde runs his hand through his hair nervously. “I’m sorry for how I acted last night. Laying in bed alone was a good reminder of how I’m not the only person under this roof and I understand your concern. I’d probably feel the same if roles were reversed, but-.”
“You hadn’t changed your mind.” You fill in the rest, he confirms. “Well then, thank you for your apology, I’m sorry for my behavior as well. I will send a message to you as soon as I get the opportunity.” You say, punctuating with a kiss on his cheek. He grabs your wrist as you turn away.
“You’re still going?”
“I forgive you, Adrian but I still don’t feel comfortable with strangers we’ve just met staying with us. Like I said last night, I need some space.”
When you reach the door Alucard stops you to properly kiss your lips. His large hand cradles your head lovingly.
“I love you, Y/n.”
“And I you.” You smile halfheartedly.
You speak to Sypha of the whole ordeal as you two pack up the cart.
“This isn’t an issue that would cause you to leave him, is it?” You shake your head appalled by the idea.
“Of course not, I love Adrian more than anything, I just can’t shake this feeling about those two. Do you think I’m just being paranoid?” Sypha stops after she drops a heavy box in the cart bed. Propped on an elbow, whipping her brow.
“Perhaps but that comes with the territory of love I guess.” She shrugs.
“You get that way about Trevor?”
“Please if I always allowed myself to, I'd probably be riddled with unease. I swear that man is like a toddler with a knife at times.” You both share a laugh which helps you relax.
As the sun was setting Alucard and the two new residents saw you three off. Your man helped you onto the cart and gave you one final kiss before he watched you leave down the path.
~~~
You’ve been gone with Sypha and Trevor for nearly a month. Alucard had received a couple letters but it has been about a week since the last which makes the worry in his heart heavier. Slumping into a chair his attention is brought to Taka and Sumi knocking.
“Alucard, are you alright?” The woman asks, resting her hand on his arm.
“Yeah, I'm just a bit concerned.”
“About what? If you don’t mind us asking.” Taka adds. The two sit at the table the dhampir is at, Sumi sat beside him and her partner across.
Alucard confides in his newly found friends about his concern about you and the lack of word from you and the argument you had before departing. It had, from the moment you left to sleep in your own bed, left a sour taste in his mouth.
“She doesn’t trust us? Did you tell her of our intentions?” Taka asks. Alucard shakes his head.
“Yes but she stood by her concerns. However, please don't allow this to taint how you see her. She is just wary because she doesn’t know the two of you.”
“Of course not, Adrian.” Sumi says, using his true name with a smile. “Though we aren’t too surprised, fortunately for her she can never understand how it feels to lose everything and still not have a place you truly belong to like we do. You’re an outcast, we understand that. You aren’t entirely human and at times we feel as if we aren’t either. We could never blame her for what she doesn’t understand. Our mission is to help people.”
“Perhaps this space between you is a good thing.” The man across the table adds. Alucard looks taken aback from the statement.
“What could you mean by that?”
“Well they say distance makes the heart grow fonder and besides it would allow you more time to help us, allowing us to accomplish our goal sooner.” Sumi says.
“Maybe you’re right and it has only been a week. She is very capable and is traveling with Sypha and Belmont, I might be worrying myself for no reason.”
After that was resolved they continued on with the batter about different training techniques and future plans.
Days went by much quicker without you than expected, admittedly it had a lot to do with the duo staying with him keeping him company. Alucard had gotten so used to being with someone that the days you’ve spent apart felt as if they dragged on for years.
Anytime concern for you crept up the two of them were there to sooth it. When he couldn’t sleep, he didn’t have to be alone. But soon their comforting words began to be less and less effective in dusting away his worries.
“It’s been more than three weeks without a word from any of them. Perhaps I should set off to where they’ve traveled.” Alucard was about to get up and pack but Sumi stopped him with her gentle hand.
“Adrian, you should sit down.” Taka started. The blonde wearily took a seat watching the man before him give his partner a nod.
“I’m afraid we have to confess something to you. We haven’t been completely honest with you. It’s about Y/n.” She pauses.
“What do you mean? What is this about?”
“We hoped what we heard wasn’t true but as time passes we are becoming less and less sure.”
“Just tell me.” Alucard says impatiently. The woman sighs.
“The morning that Y/n and the others were leaving, I went to see if I could help them load their cart but I overheard Y/n speaking to Sypha.”
“About what?” The two brunettes glance at each other with concern.
“About possibly leaving. For good.” Alucard stands when the words hit his ears and Sumi stands with him, following him through the door of the kitchen. “We didn’t tell you because we thought it could be just high emotions from your argument but…”
“You don’t need to say anymore. Thank you for telling me.”
Retiring to his dark, empty room. Tossing and turning in bed trying to sleep but it’s useless, you aren’t there to hold. Your hot skin isn’t available to chase away the chill in the air. No rhythmic heart beat to lull him to sleep.
How could he be so stupid?
“Sleep you idiot.” He tried to will himself to fall into unconsciousness so he can get some relief from the hell of the last evening of truth.
Who is he kidding?
He’s felt this turmoil from the time he stopped receiving your letters. He should’ve known from that alone. You must have even told Sypha and Trevor not to say anything. Finding it easier to just disappear without a trace. Start a new life with a man that listens. A man better than him. You left within a moment of friction, not content.
Alucard presses his fingers to his lips, closing his eyes. Remembering the way your lips pressed together for the last time. A silent tear falls from his eyes. His mourning was interrupted by the soft creek of the door. Quickly wiping his tears he sits up.
“Is everything alright?” The pair walk towards his bed with sweet smiles.
“Yes. However, we know you’re dealing with your loneliness and we wanted to help. In any way you need it.” Sumi whispers into Alucard’s ear, making him shutter, suppressing a tear. Her soft hands cup his cheeks before connecting his lips to hers then Taka does the same.
Their lips feel nothing like yours. The contact feels empty and lacking in love but it was something. You were gone and they were here. It feels wrong being stripped by another and cressing their skin. To be tasting another’s tongue. You were the last person he ever wanted to be with.
But Alucard can’t ignore how sickly sweet it feels to be with another. Comfort in the more intimate level, although not like with you it was enough to get him through the night. Indulging in another’s body felt better than being alone with his thoughts of regret and sadness. They whispered words of praise he needed to hear. His toes curled from the stimulation they both bring to his tired body.
Though, what seems to be the case, like most things in his life it inevitably came to a bitter end.
Lost in their touch he didn’t realize it till it was too late. A silver cuff on each wrist was placed that then began to wrap his body tight. The wire searing into his hot skin, he hisses as he tries to shift or move. Anything to fight this.
‘This can’t be happening!’
Unable to grasp the situation or more so unwilling to. He questions their actions as they call him a liar. Discrediting all his help and of it not being enough or in full. Expressing how he wasn’t against him seemed to fall on deaf ears. Pleading for them to listen and believe him he watches as they raise their swords above him. Closing his eyes he turns as he hears his magic sword slice through their necks. Their bodies fall back to the mattress with a thud, choking on their blood, slowly being drained of life.
“I never lied to you.” He says numbed and broken. Laying tied up till darkness finally overtakes him
~~~
“What-er you lookin at?” He slurred to himself in the broken mirror shards. Lifting the bottle to take another swig reveals it to be empty. Eyes squinted, looking at the disappointing bottle he sighs. Arm limp at his side before the grip on the neck of the bottle loosens, it falls to the floor with a hollow thud.
It’s been a few days since Alucard slayed the traitors, maybe even months he doesn’t know. Time seems irrelevant now. Once they'd been propped up on their new resting place, on spikes, he just wandered the empty castle. To think just a few days prior everything seemed perfect. He felt so stupid. Since that night he’s not spent a moment sobar. Every empty bottle was followed by a new one ready to drown his misery.
He felt sick from himself. His actions.
How pitiful of him to allow them to ‘comfort’ him. How pathetic it was to like it, pretending that it was you pleasing him by plastering your image at the back of his eyelids.
Life feels meaningless.
First Y/n. Then Them. And now this, back to being alone. But this is nothing like before. Before he was alone, yes.
But this. This is empty.
Suffocating.
He has lost count of the amount of times he’s wandered into your room. Look at the nicknacks on your shelves. The paintings you’d done together, the ones you thought were horrible but he assured you otherwise. He has spent countless hours just laying on your bed. Pressing your blanket to his face, surrounding himself in your scent. Waterlogging your pillows each night, missing your voice and touch. In choked sobs he’d prayed to god or whoever and whatever would listen pleading for you to return or at least for some release. If he could he would walk into the sun and end it all but alas his blood doesn’t allow such an end to a being caught between two worlds. That would be too easy. So he is forced to watch the sun rise and set without you.
Without anyone.
~~~
It has been nearly two months since you left the castle. Currently you’re traveling back, on your own, to check in with Alucard. You’ve hoped that your letters had been received well, apologizing for leaving in such a way and how you were doing without recent response.
The tall peaks of the castle are finally coming into view. Your heart stops when you see the gruesome scene that is held in the front. As you walk closer you realize the decaying and bird pecked bodies were that of Taka and Sumi.
Rushing up the castle steps the doors leading are cracked open.
The place is a mess. Blood trails from the door and up the stairs, every mirror and painting that hung on the walls have been torn down and broken or turned around. Your heart races as you follow the trail down the hall leading towards Alucards room. Before opening the door you stop, mentally preparing yourself for the worst, debating whether not even opening it at all. A shaky hand takes the handle and opens the door with closed eyes, tears threatening to seep out. You sigh in momentary relief when he is nowhere in sight. The only thing you see is a torn apart room and blood soaked sheets.
You have to find him!
You begin to look in every room or closet in the castle.
The office, no.
Library, empty.
Then you open your bedroom door, a mixture of sorrow and relief washes over you when you see the limp form of your lover on your bed. Your recent letters from the past few weeks lay scattered at the door, all unopened.
“Adrian?” You say, voice quiet. Your hand caresses his face and he stirs. “Oh Thank god!” Urgently you shake him, cupping his face trying to get him to open his tired eyes. He reeks of wine and filth. “Adrian, what happened?” You shake his face, your nose inches from his. His eyes crack open but soon shut in agitation in front of the sun.
“Y/n?” His raspy voice comes out. You kiss his lips, shielding his eyes from light so they can open more.
“Are you ok? What happened? I saw- outside- and the blood- I-.” Your thoughts are coming out frazzled and incomplete.
“Y/n? Is that really you?” He sits up slowly, looking at you like you’re a mirage. He fears if he moves too much you’ll disappear but mirage or not, he’s seeing your beautiful face.
“Yes, Baby. What happened?” You ask more sternly. Getting up you close the curtains to shield the room from the bright sun and go right back to him on the bed.
“Y-you came back to me.” He is still in a daze, wiping his eyes.
“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I?” You cup his cheeks, your brows knitted together.
“They said…'' He closes his eyes, shaking his head. “They said they heard you say you were leaving me.”
“Sumi and Taka?” You let go of his face and sit back.
“Yes. A-and I didn’t want to believe it but then your letters stopped coming and- They used my concern against me, Y/n. Then I found the letters they hid from me. You have to believe that I never would hurt you!”
“Adrian, what happened?”
“Please don’t leave me.” Alucard cries, still not answering your question. “I love you more than I ever knew I could and when I thought you were gone it was hard to breathe, to do anything.”
You stare at him in silence, mind racing. Heart filled with worry as he continued.
“I promise you I wasn’t myself and i-it didn’t mean anything!” He says. Your blood runs cold as you look at him, unable to catch his eyes.
“Adrian, what are you saying?” Your voice comes out shaky and cold.
“Please -.” He leans forward, resting his forehead in your lap as if in prayer. You cut him off needing answers, not his continuous apologies.
“Tell me!” You say sternly. Your eyes sting with tears threatening to fall.
“They seduced me. Bu-” You instantly stood and turned to him.
“Did you have sex with them? Because if that is what you’re about to say, stop talking.”
“Y/n, it’s not like that. I thought you abandoned me and-.”
“Oh, so it’s my fault you slept with them?”
“N-no that’s not wha-”
“Then what is it, Adrian? You know what, why am I surprised?”
“What?”
“Ever since they came here I told you I didn’t like them. I told you I didn’t trust them and you didn’t believe me! And now you’re telling me you allowed them to make you believe that I’d just leave you?”
“Y/n, I’m sorry. I know, I was stupid.”
“Stupid? Stupid doesn’t begin to explain it. You trusted them more than you did me.”
“Please-”
“Please what, Adrian?” You run a frustrated hand through your hair trying to wrap your mind around the situation. “Was I- was I not enough for you? Did I not do enough for you?”
“No, Y/-”
“No? NO? Then what is it? If that’s not it then how in the world did they manage, in such a short time, to make you believe that I didn’t love you?” He stares at you with no words, his jaw hung slack with no response. “Do you know how scared I was to come back seeing them dead and blood everywhere? I was so scared that I’d come in and see your body next. Do you have any idea how destroyed I would've been if I did?”
“Y/n, I-” Tears begin to stain Alucard’s cheeks as you continue.
“I wasn’t gone two months! Two months is all it took to tear apart all that we had? Did they really manage to weasle so far into your brain that you forgot everything we’ve been through? Every night I spent in your arms, telling you how my heart yearned for you every second we’re apart? All of that, just gone?”
“Y/n, It wasn’t like that!”
“Then how was it, Adrian? Please, enlighten me.” Tears stream down your face as your heart breaks more with every word he says trying to make the problem not what it is.
“You were right, Y/n and I didn’t listen to you. I allowed myself to be blinded by false hope of altruism and comfort and I’m sorry.” His breath hitches between sobs. His heart feels as if it will come out of his mouth. He looks up, finally catching your eyes. “Y/n, I couldn’t be more undeserving of your love and it’s much too selfish for me to ask you to stay but I need you! I need you more than you would ever need me. Please don’t go. I don’t expect you to love me but I can’t go through another night alone in this damned castle.”
You stand beside your bed watching the love of your life crumpled into a sobbing heap before you. Body shaking and tears dripping from his cheeks into his hands.
Your heart is conflicted. The man before you is your soulmate, the person you believed to be your fated pair. But can you accept the things he has done? Could you lay with him with that constant reminder of his hands having been on another?
He was right when he said he needed you more than you did him.
With a sigh you step towards him, sitting back onto the bed you placed your hand on his back. He instant falls into your lap, quivering and mumbling his sorrys and thank yous.
Ok this was a long rollercoaster.
I’m still not very versed in writing angst so feedback will be much appreciated!
Okay It just occurs to me how ABSOLUTELY lonely it must be for Alucard/Adrian from Castlevania, he must have seen Sypha and Trevor's Kid called Christopher.Then he would've seen Them pass on.
Dhampirs are said to live for up to 200 years at least, the time period between Castlevania and Castlevania Nocturne is around 337 years....377 YEARS
Alucard keeps on fighting and fighting but he must be so lonely because basically everyone that kind of knew him is dead, idk if Dracula is still alive, but still JUST IMAGINE when Alucard dies he hears Trevor's Voice and Sees Sypha's Face.
As he drifts to heaven he cries for the first time in 337 years, but this time and only this time it would be tears of genuine Joy.
