Free Magic Spells - Good, Bad, Or Ugly?
As a magician and shaman, the most frequent request I receive is for free magic spells. People ask me to email them a free magic spell for money, health, love, career, success ... you name it, someone has asked for it. Pick something coveted by society, be it winning the lottery or getting a promotion, and people want a free magic spell to manifest it. There are free magic spells out there, a lot of them, but the question is whether they actually perform as intended. Are Free Magic Spells Good, Bad, or Ugly? The answer is that most free magic spells are none of these things: good, bad, or ugly. Most of them are relatively harmless, good for short-term issues (like temporary pain relief), and not that powerful. Will a free magic spell help you win the lottery? Nope. What about win the love of the person of your dreams? Nope. How about fix your chronic health problems? Not that either. So what are these kinds of spells useful for? Well, a spell of this kind might lift your energy so you can beat a traffic ticket in court. This kind of spell might also help you clear junky energies out of your house so you can feel more peaceful and content. If you can't sleep at night, a small candle spell can keep nightmares or insomnia at bay. This is the scale at which these kinds of magic spells operate. When Not to Use a Free Magic Spell If you want to create a magical effect on a larger scale, such as healing a chronic health condition or making a truly permanent change in your life, consider using something other than a free magic spell. For this kind of change, you'll either need to hire someone to design a spell for you, or you'll need to design and launch your own spell. For a spell to really work, you need to pay something into the process. What do you pay? Sometimes it is money, and more often than not you pay in effort and attention. Except in very unusual cases, I don't do spells for other people. As with the adage about giving someone a fish or teaching them how to fish, I find most people benefit more in the long run by learning how to design and cast their own spells. Does it take more time? Yes. Does it take more effort? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Designing Your Own Magic Spells When you create your own spell that is customized to your personal situation, the spell will be far more powerful and effective than using a spell created by another person. Also, every time you put effort into spell work or magical work of any kind, you increase your personal power and magical abilities. That kind of effort accumulates over time until eventually you are a powerful magician ... perhaps without even realizing it. Learning the Magical Craft If learning to be a powerful magician in your own right interests you, beyond just solving a temporary life problem, I suggest you delve deep into the craft, learning everything from how to use the four magical elements, to making and using magical tools, to Tarot and spellwork. You may want to consider investigating the 32-week Basic Magic course (see the resource box below for more info). Whatever you choose, remember that free and easy magic won't lead to permanent change in your life, but taking on the craft in a serious way will produce some lasting changes that will surprise you.

How to Cast Stronger Magic Spells
I get asked all the time by magical practitioners how they can cast stronger magic spells. Is there a secret ingredient that makes one spell stronger than another? Is there some secret to choosing the right spell for the right occasion? Or is it something else altogether? The question of casting stronger spells can be a tough one to answer because, like other disciplines in life, casting spells is a cross between science and art. There isn't one single answer that is going to make the difference for every magician or every spell. But if you want to cast stronger spells, what you can do is walk through every step of the process and see how you can improve each step. This article covers the first step in casting a spell: defining what you want. We also call this step Directors and Limiters. What Do You Want Your Spell to Do? I know that there are a lot of magical practitioners out there who use pre-written spells authored by someone else. This is perfectly acceptable, especially if the spell doesn't have a huge scope. For instance, we frequently teach people how to use the Sun Candle for basic mood-lifting spells or how to use the Bathtub Litany for reducing stress. Using pre-written spells for this purpose is convenient and effective. But if you want a spell to do something more than relieve stress or fluff your aura, you might want to create one from scratch. Launching a spell that you've created yourself, for your own purposes, is kind of like the difference between eating homemade biscuits and store-bought biscuits. There's a world of difference in the quality. If you choose to create your own spell, then the first step is to define what you want your spell to do (and not do). These are the Directors and Limiters for your spell. If you want to cast stronger magic spells, then it's important to be very clear when you write your Directors and Limiters. Be Clear About Your Directors and Limiters How can you be clear in writing your Directors and Limiters for your spell? I've come to rely on a few principles when I write mine: 1. Take Your Time Don't get in a hurry when you write your Directors and Limiters. According to the magic principles I was taught by Reverend George Dew, when it comes to doing magic, "Take your time, think it through, and do it right." Your Directors and Limiters form the foundation of your spell. Get those wrong and the whole spell will go awry. A lot of people launch spells because they "need" something to happen right away, which causes them to hurry when creating their spell. Don't do that. Resist the temptation. 2. Create Freely If you're going to go to the trouble to write a spell and launch it, make sure your spell has a wide scope. It can take a lot of work to launch a homemade spell, so make sure your spell is really going to do something for you. When I consider what I want my spell to do, I sometimes take flights of fancy. I ask myself, "If time and money were no object, what would I really want?" This question unfetters my mind and allows me to think big. I may later have to downsize some of these flights of fancy so as not to overburden my spell, but starting with a strong vision is crucial. After all, if your spell isn't big enough to excite you, why bother? 3. Consider Worst-Case Scenarios As always, when writing spells you need Directors (what you want your spell to do) as well as Limiters (what you don't want your spell to do). When it comes to writing Limiters, consider the worst-case scenarios and limit them with your Limiters. For instance, you don't want your spell to cause anyone to die. You probably don't want the spell to result in loss of property or income for yourself or your family or your dog, etc. You don't want your spell to cause you do to anything illegal. Be sure to write your Limiters to include these scenarios. One magical practitioner wrote a "get a job" spell and forgot to exclude jobs that required illegal activity. The spell brought her the most fantastic job with great pay and fabulous working hours. The only catch was that she ended up working for the mob. Bummer! Clarity Leads to Stronger Spells I hope these principles help you reach clarity as you write your Directors and Limiters for your spell. Taking your time in this step can mean the difference between a splendid outcome and a total flop. Casting stronger spells is all about being more methodical, consistent, and careful in your approach to creating spells. Being clear in defining the do's and don'ts for your spell is a great place to start.

Magic Spells to Be Used For Protection
We have heard of spells for love, and we have encountered a lot of spells that attract love, get back love that was lost, and even avenge love taken by someone else. It is quite a heady sensation to be able to cast a spell that can protect, knowing that you have that kind of power to make it work. Always bear in mind that casting a spell requires knowledge, power and focus, so prepare all three before you can be ready to even start preparing yourself and the ingredients needed to make the spell for protection to work. First off, make yourself physically prepared and set, to ward off evil, and opening yourself to make the protection spell. Eating the right types of food would be a good start. Foods rich in protein, like chicken meat, tofu, cheese, and possibly, beans to make you physically strong, will be an added power to your aura and well being. Know what you fear. For every protection spell, you have to know and be aware of the fear that you have, within you, outer forces that you wish to dispel, and even your hidden fears like losing your love one. These are types of fear that you have to make yourself open to. Once you have accepted your fears, dealing and casting a spell to chase these fears away is a good beginning. If you are trying to ward off people who have a negative effect on your being, start meditating on this person. A letter describing your negative feelings towards this person and why he or she is causing you distress is a good idea. Once prepared of these earthly bindings, next thing to do is to preparing working with the natural essence around you that is, working with the moon...the full moon to be exact. Your altar should have a good twenty four hours ready and prepared before the day of the casting. A cauldron with three different coloured candles, black, white and red candle. Once you have these candles properly positioned, create an unbroken circle using the following: marjoram, mint, elder blossoms, and rue. On a small vial, equally mix frankincense, lavender, clove and jasmine. Put the sealed vial in the cauldron. On the full moon, bathe and cleanse yourself before the casting. Clothe yourself in a white robe. Once ready, stay in the circle, and light the candles, positioning the red candle on the right side, the white candle behind you, and the black candle to your left. Once done, use a small dagger and face the East, raising your dagger upward saying "By the power of the rising sun, all negativity in my life is done." To the south and raise your dagger upward and say "By the power of the rising sun, all negativity in my life is done." Face the north this time, and raising the dagger say, "By Full Moon in blackening sky, I am not alone. My help is nigh. The Goddess's hands around me stay, To keep me safe by night and day. Begone, foul spirits, unbidden here. I send you back, I do not fear. For I have won. I am set free. You have no further power over me."

How to Reverse a Magic Spell or Curse
Magic has to be one of the oldest practices on earth. As a matter of fact, it is even older than the practice of prostitution, which is saying a lot. With such a profound history, magic has been shaken together, refined and hybridized through the ages and this can only have led to it becoming more profound in its potency. It is no wonder thus, that curses and spells continue to be cast and their collective effectiveness seems to grow in girth. This article looks at how curses and spells may be reversed and broken in simple fashion, if an individual suspects that he or she is trapped under their influence. Here are several spells that work to break and reverse curses.
In order to break a particular spell's power and remove a curse, you need a black, nondescript bowl of water, a black candle and some water. The first step is to fix the candle inside the bowl using its wax drippings, so that it stands firm. Proceed to fill up the bowl to the brim with water, without it touching the wick, and after meditation to clear the head, light up the candle. Then, visualize the spell's power as living within the doomed candle's flames. Ones the flame gets to the water and sputters out, the spell will be effectively broken. This is a spell that all those who may be pondering on how to remove black magic should employ.
So as to lift curses from yourself and deflect them to the sender, you need three lighted candles colored pink, green and black. What you need more than that is some private space with a degree of darkness. Get a bowl of water and pour in several drops of green dye into it. Once that is done, tip the bowl over each and every candle, extinguishing the flames. As you do this, chant "juinta shelt fonsed" and imagine the spell being lifted and perching onto the sender. Doing this will effectively lift the spell off and transfer it to the sender.
In case you want to break a curse or spell that you have perpetrated with your own hands, the spell directions below should be followed. After midnight with the moonlight dimming and incense sticks burning in the background, anoint several white candles with rosemary oil. Get a bead from a personally owned necklace and a piece of cloth that is black in color. Say an incantation to the effect that whatever curse has been laid down is thereby broken and grip the bead tightly. All the while, focus your thoughts on the particular spell you want to break. As soon as the candles burn down, the spell will be effectively broken.
Spells that work to remove black magic are present and effective. However, it must be realized that the mind is the platform for the spell. Having divided thoughts almost always leads to incomplete results.

Spell Casting in History
'Magic', in its simplest form, has been used by ancient cultures to control the elements, and bend forces of nature to the will of the user. The Prehistoric man was very much in tune with how they were placed in nature, and often felt they must give up sacrifices and offerings to their Gods in order to keep them happy. These rituals are the earliest forms of spellcasting, as their power of giving thanks helped them in their tasks of farming or gathering food.
African and Native American cultures had their wise men and women to perform their spells for similar reasons. They used wands and crystals to aid them in their spell casting, and offered gifts of thanks for the spiritual powers. They focused more on charms and trinkets, or dolls to be carried around, and could perform spells wherever they were needed. Those who performed the spells were highly revered in their society, as they had proved themselves strong enough to handle the power of the spirits.
Egyptian and Greeks were more direct in their spellcasting, with their magics being used to control the will of others, or giving healing spells direct to an individual through their sleep. The performance of the rituals had little change from previous times, as they still believed that their Gods and Goddesses wanted cleanliness from the user, and offerings or gifts in order to say thank you for the use of their powers.
However, the rise of Christianity during Roman times paved the way for other forms of spellcasting, reverting back to the prayers to God, or the use of rosary beads and the cross. While the use of magics began to be outlawed for their pagan roots, the simple spells given by the Romans gave them the peace to actively co-exist with other spellcasters from other cultures for a set time. If the prayers worked, then they would be given permission to enter their version of afterlife and their form of spells worked for them.
During the Middle Ages, the practice of witchcraft was illegal, and many people fell under the governing bodies for the accusation of casting spells upon others. Stories surrounding these times often tell of spells that caused devilish images to appear in the dreams of the victim, or spells that could alter the temperature of the person, or evil sorcery that caused the death of another. Although it was a crime for witchcraft to be used, those who followed the old path were forced underground, and the practice of spells continued. The nature of these spells were the same as their ancestors. Small rituals to give thanks for their goods, prayers to their ancestors, and also the use of herbs to cure illnesses were used in their daily lives until the re-emergence of the pagan religion.
There are many different forms of spell casting. Each depends on the cultural backgrounds of the person asking for assistance. Although the love spell is the most common, the use of spells are extremely helpful in providing the guidance we need in our every day lives.
A prayer, offered to the spirits or to the Gods or Goddesses of your religion is the simplest form of a spell. In asking those of a higher power for assistance and guidance, the follower is using the magical energies of the gods to benefit their lives. However, due to its strict religious connotations, it is rarely classed as a spell, but more a way of giving thanks to your selected deity.
The art of writing words is a relatively new phenomenon, and so written spells were often seen as being more powerful than a spoken one. Words written on different objects were kept as charms and trinkets around the person to ensure the spell continued, or to make sure nothing happened to make the magic stop. The charms and trinkets that are worn can also be blessed with spoken words, or imbued with magical power from the elements around. In addition, rituals can be performed to strengthen these powers and make the charms potent for the user.
Performing spells can be easy, but others require the use of instruments and divination tools that allow the connection between the natural world and the spirit realm. The wand is most often associated with witchcraft, especially if carved from natural wood with an offering of thanks for the use of the tree. The wand acts as a buffer for the magical power, and aids the spells by directing the power in concentrated doses. A ceremonial knife, or athame, can also be used for these purposes. The wand connects the user to the spirit realm, and ensures that thanks are given for their assistance.
Other items that can be used to create a spell include ribbons to wrap up parcels or pouches, much the same as has been passed down through the ages. Wrapping up the spells enables the power to be held tightly inside until enough time has passed for it to return to the natural state from which it came.
A small broom, often made from small twigs tied together, can be used before a ritual to cleanse the space that will be used. Ridding the area of all energies that are unnecessary has been proven to increase the effectiveness of the spell. Throughout history, there have been many rituals involving the use of a broom, most notably the notion of spring cleaning, which is used to bring in good luck for the forthcoming season.
Candles, feathers, clay, oils, incense, water and crystals are used in addition to these. They aid the spell because they represent the elements being used; the candle for fire, feathers for air, clay or soil for earth, and crystals to hold the spirit. These items are all natural substances, and have been used for many years in all cultures to aid in the creation of spells. All the tools that are used in the divination process, even the use of tarot cards, crystal balls, dream catchers and herb pouches, are designed to pass on both elemental powers and spiritual messages from the user to the gods, or to the intended recipient of the spell.
Love: The most powerful emotion a person can feel; the emotion that drives deep into the heart of the soul and causes that person to behave in ways different to their norm. In every culture, there has always been talk of ways to attract love into your life, or to keep a lover, or to improve the love that is shared, or even to end a relationship. One way to do this is through the use of a spell.
Prehistoric or ancient cultures used their shamans to find ways of altering the course of nature, by asking the spirits to bless marriages, or bring love into their lives. Popular cultures have dramatised the rituals of their times in regard to the relationships they have, with the use of omens before the marriage; for example, the weather must be checked, and prayers must be offered to the ancestors for their blessing of the unions. These spells were considered important to the custom of the time. If something bad happened, then it was considered that the spells were not strong enough, and the gods simply weren't pleased by the unions. Since then, these people have often asked to bring the correct love into their live in order to please the spirits.
Other cultures have their own forms of love spells. Binding spells are most common in occult circles, where the object of the spell is bound to the user by the altering of their emotions to believe they feel affection for the spell caster. Performing this spell could have been mainly part of a violent nature with in the user, a latent desire to control the victim. The Ancient Greeks and Egyptians often used these curses to bring physical pleasure, and ease the suffering of the user by inflicting the same upon the victim. These forms of spells are dangerous, as many times the harmful nature of the spell comes back to haunt the user. However, there is still plenty of evidence to suggest that this magic continues.
Throughout the ages, although the use of spells and magic had to be hidden, the love spell continued. Many forms of the love spell could be found; prayers were offered to the spirits, pouches of herbs could be worn by the user, potions could be placed on the pillows of the user to dream of their loved one, and also effigies of the desired one could be carried around so as to bring their desire to them. Although this is not as noted, the wearing of trinkets, or the addition of perfumes that are in use today in order to both feel attractive, and to attract others, are all connected to the charms and spells used by witches from previous times.
After the later parts of the 19th century, and the re-emergence of many paganesque religions that were forced into hiding, many more people turned to the art of spell casting to aid them in their every day lives.
Freemasonry played a large part in the use of spell craft as a natural occurrence. They believed that it was possible to shape their own destiny and control the forces of nature by living as equals under the stars. Although their spell craft was limited, they often had with them a pentagram with a human body in the centre, to represent how grounded they were in their convictions.
African and Native Americans continued with their own voodoo practices, and their lives, while happily co-existed with Christian practices, remained largely unchanged. They used their spells to cure the sick, and to offer prayers of thanks to their ancestors or spirits. They used their dolls and other charms for protection, and completed the cycle of life with other spells and rituals to aid in both birth and death.
From the 1900s, the practice of spell craft took on more natural forms, and there was a clear shift from many spells that were used to cause harm, and more for healing powers, and to attract natural energies in order to change the self. Although spell craft by and large remained unchanged, with similar rituals being carried out, and tools remaining the same, it was clear that the popularity of the witch and the practice of sorcery meant that more people joined together. Covens appeared, and spells began to grow that included a larger number of people participating. These spells could be more powerful, although the elements of earth, air, water, fire and spirit remained the sole energies that were channelled. Charms and trinkets are still worn, and perfumes are still used to attract others and create a positive effect, and more herbs are being used in natural remedies as spells to aid the sick.
After the 1900s, with the rise of the popular media, we began to see positive images of the witch. Spell books were increasing in volume, and more information was passed to others to aid them with their own spells. Works of fiction saw the witches as heroines, or as people who used their spell crafting to aid the hero along their journey, both being invaluable to the stories. Television made a huge leap into the realm of sorcery, and magic was seen to be a powerful use of nature, and spell crafting intrigued many people.
