(Beyond this point, I will be gushing about this moment in the game, so if you have seen this painting and don't really get the context behind it and don't really wanna spoil it for yourself, I suggest you scroll on by)
So, I have been playing Octopath Traveler 2 for a while now. I started with Ochette as my protagonist (because out of the main themes in the soundtrack I loved hers the most -- at least at the time before I started playing the game), but as I played the other characters, Castti began growing on me.
And then Chapter 3 happened and I... I didn't expect the gutpunch of a revelation that came. My friend yelled out in shock, I was rendered speechless and didn't let the game proceed with the next dialogue for quite some time as we cried our eyes out.
Fun fact: it was the eve of Mother's Day when we got to this chapter, and just before this moment, I had just beaten Mother in Throné's story. It was an emotionally... interesting weekend.
It has been over a week. Almost two, I'd say. And I am still not over it. Clearly.
I do like how pretty much everyone's decided that alfyn wields a nice handaxe :). He was a village boy so it's what he knows and it's not like fighting is his primary job after all. Meanwhile castti (equally as nice and dedicated to healing) is white knuckling a greataxe in one hand and that if she's swinging at you, she is swinging for the head
