it wasn’t ethical by any means, but if it would pay back his debt then he’d do anything. he clocks out of work the same time of night he usually does, not bidding a goodnight to his coworkers. he never really speaks to them outside of work. he slips on his jacket walking into the brisk air, already prepared on his destination. he’s not worried about anyone following since all of his life he’s been inconspicuous with his actions. besides, he came across as a well-respected young man who would do no trouble. who would want to follow him ? however, as he turns into an alleyway, it becomes increasingly obvious of what’s about to transpire. standing at the back of the alleyway is a black clad body such as himself, back faced away from him. he clears his throat, the dark figure turning around to face him.
‘ you got it, right ? ’ was the question directed at him. he nods, pulling a baggie out of his jacket pocket, holding out. the other takes it, examining it before deeming it to be right. he pulls out a wad of cash, smacking down in the dirty blond’s hand. immediately, ryan shuffles through the bills to count them to make sure it was the appropriate amount before stuffing it in his own pocket. he’s about to leave before he noticed the man’s gaze is focused behind him. he turns to notice someone staring at them. he squints, not being able to see clearly in the dark, before realizing who it was. that waitress from the diner. ‘ you didn’t come here alone ? ’ he quickly turns to the man who looks less than happy.
‘ i left alone, i swear. she just walks home this way. i’ll take care of it. ’ he rambles before rushing down the same alleyway he walked up. he meets up with her, pulling her close. ‘ what the hell are you doing here ? ’ he immediately accuses. it was already dangerous as hell to be dealing with this by himself but the fact that she was there made it even worse. ‘ you can’t be here. i’ve never seen you walk home this way. how much did you see ? ’
