The Start of Something Special
Setting is NYC. Dean is sitting up against a building just chilling and sees Cas walk by crying. Dean gets up to see what’s up. Prompt by charliegradbury
The wind was blowing hard as I leaned against the side of the building. Sky scrapers towering above everything else, making it seem possible that they might just blow right over and crush all of New York. But that probably won’t happen. Things like that don’t happen. Just like I thought I’d never see the love of my life walk right past me crying, dark hair blowing in the wind, bright blue eyes looking up at me with tears spilling out and landing on the pavement like raindrops.
As soon as he saw me though, he quickened his pace, trying to get past me as fast as he could, but those eyes kept me from letting him go. I ran after him, catching up right before he got enveloped by the masses. I grabbed his shoulder and he spun around looking terrified, as though he thought I was someone else.
“Hey, hey, it’s just me…Dean.” And I stuck out my hand for a shake that never came.
“Castiel. Now please, I have to go.” He said urgently, trying to tug his arm out of my grasp.
“Wait, please. Who are you running from? Or that’s at least what it seems like you’re doing.” I ask him.
He just shakes his head, and starts to turn away again.
“Please, I just want to help.” I tell him, not wanting to let go.
“It’s really none of your business who I’m running from or what I’m even doing.” He says stubbornly, the tears already drying on his face.
“Look, I know a bit about family issues, and stuff like that if that’s your problem. Or maybe it’s a girlfriend problem, I don’t know. I’m only trying to help, and by the looks of it I’m the only one to have offered. But if you don’t want any, fine. Goodbye Cas. Nice meeting you.”
I let go of his arm and start to turn away. I’ve gone about 15 steps when I hear someone running up behind me, and grabbing me by the elbow to turn me around. Suddenly I’m looking straight into the eyes of the most attractive, yet stubborn man alive. Beautiful blue eyes, dark brown hair, and the most kissable lips molded into a confident smile. It takes all my energy to step away half an inch and ask, “What?” He then grabs my hand and leads me to an ally a few feet away, and after making sure no one can see, he puts his lips on mine. My whole body warms up, and I can feel that cliché spark they always talk about in movies dance around on top of my skin. I put my hand on his cheek and snake the other arm around his waist pulling him closer. I’ve never felt like this before, I think to myself. He pulls away after a few seconds, both of us sighing contently.
“What was that for?” I ask him, surprised yet pleased, as he drags his fingers along my face, tracing my freckles.
“I’m not sure. I just had a good feeling about you, and I was right.” Cas says looking into my eyes. “Wanna get coffee? I’ll tell you all about my day.”
I chuckled and said “Sure.”
“Okay, Dean.” Cas says while smiling. He leads me out of the ally by taking my hand in his and lacing his fingers through mine. I definitely think this is the start of something special.
