3: Towser, the world mousing champion. Glenturret Whiskey Distillery, Scotland. 'Towser was catching so many mice that actually it was impossible to count over her 20+ year career, but they did meticulously keep track of all the mice she caught over a typical month, and when she died averaged it out over her lifetime... The secret to her success? They mixed a few drops of Scotch whiskey into her milk each day, apparently it really revved her up... after she died they named a special whiskey blend after her.'

7: Tiddles the Cat was buried in a human cemetery in Fairford, England. 'He was a stray who showed up one day and took up residence in the town church. He was friendly enough, but drove everyone who came to the church crazy with his constant meowing. The only reason he was allowed to stay was that he was such a good boy otherwise that the church staff couldn't bring themselves to turn him out. Well would you guess it was the best decision they ever made? One night he showed up at the verger's house, mewing incessantly outside his door. When the verger finally came out Tiddles was insistent that they walk back to the church. There, it was found that an electrical fire had just started due to old and faulty wiring. Tiddles had saved the church. And afterward, he stopped meowing entirely and became the most most quiet cat . . . well animals know things people don't, and apparently he had been trying to tell them all along that their wiring was faulty. Tiddles lived at the church for the next 15 years, and for his service on his passing he got to be buried in the people cemetery, right beside the front door.'

9: The grave of Room 8. 'He was a school cat here in Los Angeles, at Elysian Heights elementary school in Echo Park. He was a stray who just showed up one day and stayed for nearly two decades. By the time he finally died, he had known hundreds if not thousands of students, a book had been written about him, and a charitable foundation existed in his name.'
