When I was at work today, someone came in with a cat. He had just tried to surrender… Pink Gausewitz needs your support for Sweet Old Kitty
Hi friends, little update on the kitty.
She got to go to the vet today. She got a Solensia shot for her arthritis, and we're already seeing it make a difference!
She might have kidney problems or diabetes, but we're going to have to wait on blood tests to come back to know.
This visit was a little bit more expensive than I was hoping it was, but it's worth it for knowing that she's going to continue her old age being as healthy as I can make her.
Look at her little face. Look at it. Also, both her ears are black, but her right one has a little orange tip. It looks like a candle flame.
Anyway, vet visit was $770. Maybe not the most expensive "free" cat ever, but she's up there. Anything donated to the campaign goes right into paying that off, so I appreciate anything.
Also, her little spots on her shoulders reminds me of my old cat Maggie, who I got in like 2004 and who lived to be 14 years old. It's funny to me that we get Carhartt in our lives at the same age Maggie left it.
The other cats we have are Pants and Socks so we decided to name Carhartt after some clothing, too. (Teensy Buttons is arguably also named after a part of clothing)
Anyway, I knew that caring for a senior cat can be expensive, and that's part of why I took her, because I didn't think the guy giving away a 14-year-old cat on Christmas Eve was ready to take financial care of a senior cat. I can take care of her, but if anyone wants to help with this kind of sudden vet bill in the exact same month that all my other expenses happened, Carhartt and I will appreciate it.
The highest contributor to her care will still get to pick her name, but since I think that'll probably be me, second-highest gets to pick a middle name.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and everyone who just wanted to read about how much I like my cat.
