So... on Saturday night, this cat came meowing at our doorstep. That was considered very bold of a cat. Initially, we thought it was a wild cat from the forests, since it's quite unlike many of the native felines (its tail is bushier and very big.) The next evening, this clever guy came back again because we fed him some fried fish yesterday and it didn't leave 😭 no matter how much we tried to get it out. And finally my parents agreed to keep it since it's kinda a good sign that the cat's attracted to our home or something. I dunno lol. And we made a basket for the cat but it ended up sleeping on one of the boxes in storage room and it still hasn't left this morning so we fed breakfasts and such and it's following me and my brother around for scratches. I've always been intimidated by cats, I'm a pushover when it comes to cats lol the last time we had cats were back in Monywa at our family home (as in, my aunts and grandma lives there) and we had two queens which had 2-3 kittens respectively. This cat now is very big, and it's obvious he's one clever idiot cuz he won't eat the rice we give (rice is our main dish here) HE ONLY CHOOSES THE CHICKEN PART AND I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY MORNING TRYING TO GET HIM TO EAT THE OTHER THINGS "Monsieur Le Cat, Please try this tofu or I swear I'll au revoir you this instance! *he doesn't eat* WELL THEN, Be my guest, you vile le felin!"
I am worried about Geraldina, my cat. She scratches herself a lot in the face, to the point where her claws rip open a wound. And of course she doesn’t stop picking at them, ripping them open over and over again. I looked at causes and it could very well be that she could have an allergy, mostly food or pollen but judging it was already in winter I guess it is food. Anyone having experience how to deal with finding this out?

My cat just got his little head stuck in the loop of an old laundry basket handle and had gotten it wrapped so tightly that he couldn’t breathe. I woke up hearing him struggle and raced to find out what was wrong and had to rush around to find scissors to cut him out of it bc I just could not figure out how to unravel it. I am so glad he’s okay now but I was freaking the fuck out that he couldn’t breathe and was in distress. He’s only seven months old :( I love him so much. I’m gonna go to extra pains to make sure my apartment is kitty-proofed because what if that had happened while I was gone and couldn’t save him? I feel traumatized by the thought of it. Godddd that was so horrible and such a close call. I’m happy he’s okay. I picked him up afterwards and made sure his neck was okay. There are no red marks, thankfully, and he’s okay. I’m gonna try to calm down and remember that he’s okay so that I don’t freak out. And again, kitty-proof my house...
