Sooo i have a sam theory cuz i will never stop:

In animal control (we met Sam last ep) Laszlo is caged as a bat, and Nandor joins him soon as a dog because his brilliant plan to free Laszlo didnt account for cages (feels like if theyd been nicer to Guillermo he couldve fixed it but whatev).

Anyway Laszlo chats w a chatty cat in the cage next to him, and tries to hypnotize him to no avail. Laszlo later frees them to keep his word and gets attacked lolololol.

ANYWAY while we dont see it ‘work’ i wonder if thats how Sam gained sentience.

The other way would imply witches re the og Black Pete goat. We dont know he came to talk but given he can fly it implies witches (and that maybe he’d been human?)

The other theory i have and its my favorite is there are cat vampires from failed cat eating attempts and Sam is a cat vamps familiar.
