hello arah!! how are you doing? i hope you're doing well, that joel in hermitcraft is giving you good content, and that everything is great! i'm doing well, still finishing my phd but almost there this time. i watched an mcc for the first time in forever (a random illumina vod) and realized parkour warrior was back, which is wild. i love that spring is arriving because my yard is full of wildflowers now and the trees are cute again -cat-26

Yesssss I’m loving Joel being on Hermitcraft! It’s been so fun! His editing and building have gotten so good! And I’m loving all his interactions with the Hermits! Everything is great :)

Oh yeah parkour warrior! I think they changed it for the better with the difficulty tiered routes. Definitely achievable for everyone. I think the last one I watched was MCC Scuffed so that really paints how long it’s been since I watched some lol

Yes this spring weather is very lovely! IKR THE TREES! The ones in my neighborhood are like a magenta pink and the ones in my campus are linen white and they like liter the floor with petals it’s been great.

Hello lilac! I just wanted to stop by and say you are honestly the loveliest person ever. I want to have your outlook in life. Now I see a nice flower of falling leaves or a butterfly and I smile and think "lilac would like this". I feel like as we get older we tend to forget to enjoy the little things in life and the beauty of things and people around us, and you just remind us all to continue doing it. in all honesty, i put off answering this ask for four days bc at the time of receiving this message i was deep in the trenches of scientific research hell and fighting for my life.

but despite being awake for 25 consecutive hours and counting, i am doing much better today and it is cold but it is sunny and a friday and i can probably leave lab early

i got a new ear piercing three weeks ago and i already want another one. but i’m gonna be a responsible adult and wait the full 6 weeks of recovery before getting another one. if not for the physical health of my earlobe, then for my wallet.

finally parted ways w my toxic postdoc. turns out, maybe i don’t hate science maybe i just hate getting repeatedly gaslit and overworked by my mentor 🤪 it’s been a Rough week and a half. and i’m Tired. but it’s Over now and i have a new desk and lab bench and everything. i still gotta move all my equipment over though. hopefully our manuscript is like fully published by may so that smthg good comes out of all of this, i think it’s like 95% done.

i’m trying to get into crocheting. gonna go to the nearest craft store (which is not that near) to get starter supplies. i wanna be able to crochet those cute stuffed animals for my friends.

and my 2023 resolutions are to 1. (over)think less and 2. introduce more whimsy into my life. i’m doing pretty well on both fronts. i saw the green comet on wednesday. pretty neat.

how have you been? i hope 2023 has been going well for you!! are you done w your phD yet? one of my friends got accepted to their second favorite phd program last week

I'm good!! I'm about to have a job interview and I've been practicing my stories a lot I'm so excited! Yes it has been kind to me for the most part. I graduated in December so at least I don't have to walk around in the cold rain, otherwise I'd probably be more bitter about it hahaha

How are you?? How is everything going have you finished your thesis? How is the dog?
