catching bees...
this is my method for catching bees in acww. note that this DOES NOT guarantee you will actually catch the bee, but you WILL get one eventually.
shake non-fruit trees from the SIDES, not the top or bottom
if a bee nest falls, VERY quickly press Y to go to your inventory (although you won't be able to do this until AFTER your character makes the "shocked" expression, but be REALLY fast after s/he does!)
get out your net and equip it. don't worry about going quickly as the bees will not sting you while you are in your inventory.
hit B to exit your inventory and then IMMEDIATELY start mashing the A button.
now, one of three things will happen:
your character gets stung immediately before they can swing the net
your character swings the net but misses the bees (and then gets stung)
your character swings the net and catches a bee (preferred option obviously)
as far as i know there is no way to control what happens when you try to swing the net. it's just based on luck. this isn't the BEST method for catching bees obviously but if you need one for the museum it'll work eventually.
note that this is for wild world ONLY, i don't have city folk or new leaf so i have no idea how to catch bees in those games
(i miss the way i caught bees in the gamecube animal crossing, which i still have but haven't played in ages. i had a tried-and-true bee catching method, which involved absolutely no running btw. almost never got stung once i figured it out and most of the time i could catch all five bees in my town per day.)
