MyTeksi discounts with CatchThatBus
Aiming to better tap the local youth domestic travel market, especially the student community, three local outfits – CatchThatBus, MyTeksi and TextBookAsia – have come together to offer an integrated service.
Express bus tickets bought from CatchThatBus now comes with discounted taxi rides via MyTeksi for students to travel to and from the bus station in selected locations within the Klang Valley, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Seremban, Malacca, Johor Baru and Penang.
Further, the three said in a joint statement today that students can now purchase tickets for cash from all TextBookAsia branches at seven university campuses nationwide, with more bookstores to follow soon.
“This makes it extremely convenient for the students, who no longer need to travel off-campus to the bus station simply to purchase tickets,” said CatchThatBus chief executive officer Viren Doshi.
“CatchThatBus currently has 16 operators integrated with its system, including leading players like Transnasional, Plusliner and Starmart Express.
The outfit has plans to increase this number to 30 operators by end-2014. “Our prices are all either the same or cheaper than over the counter, so customers have added convenience, without added cost.”
MyTeksi deputy general manager Jaygan Fu said: “We’re happy to be working with CatchThatBus to help offer students a safe, certain, and economical alternative to car ownership.
“With MyTeksi, students can now get around, as well as to and from transportation terminals without requiring their parents to take time off work to send them, and parents can have the comfort of being able to track their children’s rides.”
