Is this a film not in all theaters? Is it a select-theater kind of a movie?
Bare isn’t even a limited-release in select theaters film, because It still doesn’t have a distribution deal. It made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday night, and there are three more showings of the film.
The hope is that they’ll get a distributor so the film can be released to a wider audience. My fingers are crossed that it does, but it does have a few things working against it: a likely NC-17 rating (although with a few edits, it could be R), a female director, and a female producer. Because let’s be real, Hollywood can still be pretty sexist.
