so can we talk about the uproar i apparently caused? i didn't realize that me getting my hair cut would cause everyone to panic. i just felt the need to do something fun, and i was left to my own devices. we know how bad that can go with me. please also tell me that we will stop missing each other, because i'm already suffering from withdrawals from my husband and now you. this must be fixed! @cate-eblanchett

i realize i've been an awful friend lately! i blame work and me not be amazing with time management. i feel like i've barely seen anyone, including my own family. i do hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me and that we can maybe meet for drinks? dinner even? unless you have been just as busy for me! @cate-eblanchett

teaching at oxford? that has to be very fun and quite interesting! you were on my mind recently, because i ended up rewatching lord of the rings. i have no idea what made me put those movies on, but they are sill so good! i will admit i forgot you were in them till i saw your face on screen! @cate-eblanchett

i'm praying that i do end up somehow getting sun burn. my team might end up wanting to slaughter me if i show up on set looking like a lobster. that is not going to stop me from having some fun. i would love for us to do something before i end up..disappearing for hours on end! @cate-eblanchett

Trying to think of something appropriately elegant and intelligent to say to you, but honestly, your existence already has that category covered. So instead we'll just say this: thank you for continuing to make the rest of us look deeply underprepared in every room, on every screen, and somehow while wearing linen.

You have that rare magic of being impossibly formidable and completely warm at the same time. Watching you work is like watching someone conduct a symphony while casually setting the building on fire — precise, fearless, annoyingly graceful.

I hope today gives you exactly what you deserve: laughter, good wine, people who adore you, and at least one moment where someone tells you "no one else could’ve done it like that," because it's usually true.
