Catholic friends, who is your confirmation saint and how did you arrive with them? I’m preparing for confirmation and a little overwhelmed in where to even start!
Do any of you guys have anything you do during Holy Week?
For as long as I can remember, my mom, siblings, and I would watch The Passion of the Christ. It probably wasn’t a movie we should’ve watched at such a young age, I think my earliest memory of it was when I was four or five with my mother reading the subtitles, but honestly I’m so glad we grew up doing that because Jesus’ sacrifice was probably the first thing I learned about and it has meant a lot to me for a very long time.
Nowadays it’s just my mom and I that watch it every year, I think we’re going to watch part of it today actually. Gonna try not to cry 👍
Have you watched The Passion?
A sort of Catholic Poll
I was raised never to break or bite down on the Sacred Host, because it is literally Christ and a bunch of theological stuff about respect and honor, etc. I've noticed a lot of people at my parish just sort of knosh on the Lord. Anyone else in the no-chew camp? Anyone know the actual theology behind this?
another question to my catholic followers :)
if you’re praying through rosary, is it okay to be doing something else at the same time, like drinking a cup of coffee? Or are you supposed to give it your full attention? And if someone interrupts you praying, can you just stop, or would it be better to finish your prayers and then talk to them?
So, a question to all you lovely people out there who happen to be Catholic! Would it be considered ok if I had a Catholic character in my short film wear his rosery like a necklace? I need to establish his faith but I have very little time to do it, so I thought having him wearing his rosery like a necklace might be a good visual cue so I don't have to actually say anything.
For my fellow Catholics on tumblr:
I am going on a Confirmation retreat this weekend as an adult leader, and I like to go into the weekend with lots of resources and references for the high-schoolers (on the topic of confirmation and other sacraments, particularly confession) in case they have a ton of questions or really feel pulled towards studying deeper into anything. In the past, they have. I’ve compiled a few things but I was wondering if anyone had an article or something that they were really affected by/really helped them understand a teaching of the Church that they think I should bring along a copy of? Or even just some advice to the students in general? Prayers would be greatly appreciated, for the students as they continue on in their faith, and for me and the other leaders that we might be granted wisdom in leading and that we are beacons of God’s light and mercy for the students.
Scapular Question?
I’ve been wearing a scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel for about two years now, but I want to start wearing a scapular for my devotion to St Michael. Does anybody know if I can wear two at the same time, and if not, is there a proper and improper way to approach this? (My Catholic upbringing was more here’s the theology than this is how we treat the physical aspect). Please help?
