this chapbook is made up of 3 parts and consists of 16 pieces of prose and poetry. it is written for those crushes; crushes on the sun; crushes on the rain and the wind; crushes on the girl who taught you how to sing; crushes on the boy who seems to forget your name everytime. the moments when your heart crushes to pieces, and all the things that put it back together again.

hello everyone! my first chapbook ‘crush’ has been published and is available for download on payhip. i started writing this in september after a particularly rainy day, and it ended in october, when the sun seemed to say goodbye.

i couldn’t have done this without the help of my love jules (@infaernal​) who was a constant supporter of my work, offering advice and generally giving me the universe to hope for. i couldn’t have done this without @jilysdeath​ either, who consistently reblogs and supports my writing, even when no one else would. i’m sure there are others i’m forgetting, but truly with every caring ask and every like and reblog, all of you contributed to this process, offering confidence.

@poeticamenteflor​‘s art was so beautiful i fell in love with it immediately. and i chose this piece as the cover, because there really wasn’t anything else that could represent the writing so well.

my, mrs dalloway

sun

the sun came home with me on wednesday. she had yellow golden hair and the prettiest eyes. her skin glowed and when she spoke, it sounded as if the world was beginning again and again and again. 

i gave her lemonade and cake. taught her how to sing. she spent the rest of the day after that practicing, dizzying melodies rising incandescent from half-heartedly blown kisses.

she was sad. she told me at night that she never blazed where the moon was. she had always wanted to see her. the stars did help; they passed on love letters and notes and every morning they brought her kisses with moondust.

i asked her which season she loved the most. she said it was winter. she liked the way her light reflected off everything and how she seemed to burn softer. 

in exchange for teaching her how to sing, she told me she would braid my hair. her fingers were made of pure golden as she weaved my hair over and over again, stumbling with their flame. 

she climbed up my window once, crawling into my room and feeling around the walls for a light switch.

she was going to have to leave me soon. that morning she had made me coffee, and sat on the kitchen counter and told me it was time for her to leave. i was to send her before dawn, she told me. the galaxy was looking for her. 

that last night we sat and watched the moon rise. the sun smiled at her, her neck craning backwards to take in the sight of the silvery light. she was crying. i don’t think i’ve ever seen the sun cry before.

my hair was still half tangled in braids when she left.

lost words

i looked everywhere yesterday. out of my house and down the street, underneath tables and behind doors, up trees and down ditches, checked horizons and glanced between bookshelves. but i just couldn’t find the words. 

i stored them somewhere safe yesterday. i don’t know where, but i remember thinking it was fine. i thought i’d get them back whenever i wanted to. 

honestly, i need them. i’ve been living off ones i find down the street. the words people leave behind as people walk out of buildings and alleyways. words they meant to say, words they forgot to mention.

lies count too. i was using all my stolen lie-words today. i said ‘i’ll call you back’ again and again and again. i also said ‘i love you.’ 

i asked the stars for more words yesterday. i found out that shooting stars don’t carry wishes; they leave them where they fall. i spent an entire afternoon on my bike, gliding around the neighborhood, looking for shining words between the cracks of the pavement. 

i took my books off the shelf yesterday and lay there, wondering if i could drink the ink and eat the words. 

i don’t know if i will ever find my words.

hey! for the q&a, i wanted to ask you for a tutorial on how to do coloring?? for beginners who havent done it before :)

could you be more specific? if you’re asking about coloring gifs, we have many different tutorials you can see here. but if it’s about something else, could you clarify?
