HI i lost steam on this section of the comic so im just gonna. skip ahead. Here's Cathy's "face"! Her voice sounds like a bad phone call, and it sort of doubles over the PA system.

(Stu doesnt find the key where it usually is but funnily enough just asking Cathy for it works. she doesnt seem to be fully aware- she recognizes stu's voice, and is chatting to him as if on the phone, but doesnt seem to be particularly concerned with what's going on or what her tendrils are doing. Herb manages to pull Stu out of the room after he trips on one of her tendrils and they finally get to trudge up to the breakroom.)
