Helios Rising Heroes - TRAUMA DAY
HERO CHRONICLE - Gast Adler Card Story
Gast: Hey Dad, what’s a soldier?
Harvey: They are stronger than anyone, a being everyone relies on. Study hard so you can acquire the skills you need to become stronger, too.
Harvey: So you can protect the things you need to protect, no matter what happens.
Gast: How’s that any different from a “Hero”? Isn’t that what they do too?
Harvey: .....They’re completely different. In resolve, and every other way.
Harvey: All they do is train themselves and do as is required of them....They only think about being praised by the world.
Harvey: Have pride as a soldier. You must never lose to those evil people, Gast.
Gast: I got it! I’ll become strong!
Gast: So I won’t lose to anyone, even heroes.....!
----------------------------------------------------
Gast: (.....Dad’s a liar.)
Gast: (Didn’t he become stronger to protect what he needed to protect?)
Cathy: I’m sorry...... I’m sorry, I’m sorry.......
Cathy: Please......I’m begging you, just let me go.......
----------------------------------------------------
Gast: (Mom....did you start hating Dad....?)
Gast: (For you to make that kind of expression.......)
Gast: (Soldiers....Dad.....none of them are strong at all—)
???: Hey, who are you?
Gast: !?
Marion: What are you doing here? Crouching like that....are you not feeling well?
Gast: [blushing]......
Marion: ? Can you not talk....?
Gast: I’m Gast! Gast Adler!
Marion: You spoke....So you’re feeling alright then?
Gast: Yeah I’m okay! Absolutely fine! Not hurt anywhere!
Marion: Weird....why were you crying?
Gast: I-I wasn’t crying! I don’t cry!
Marion: ........
Gast: S-sorry..... But I really wasn’t crying.
Marion: I got it, you’re a weirdo.
Gast: I came here to look for my mom.
Marion: Your mom? In this research institute?
Gast: Probably....she said she worked here, so I thought she might be here, but
Gast: I haven’t found her....and I can’t go any further inside.....
Marion: So that’s why you were crouching?
Gast: ......Yeah.
Marion: Adler, you said? Does your mom have the same name?
Gast: Yeah.....though maybe that’s changed, recently......
Marion: I haven’t heard that name before. I know everyone in this institute.
Gast: Really?
Marion: Yeah. But I've never seen someone named “Adler” here before.
Gast: .....I see.
Marion: ..........
Marion: Hey, come play with me.
Gast: Eh...
Marion: You don’t have anything else to do, right? Then come play with me.
Gast: S-sure, I guess....
Marion: ! Yay♪
Gast: .............
Marion: Then let’s play house first! I’ve only ever done it with Jack and Jacqueline, so I wanna try playing with someone else!
Gast: House, huh....what should I be?
Marion: What do you want?
Gast: I mean I'm a guy so, the dad...?
Marion: Do you wanna be the dad? If so that’s fine, though—
Gast: No, I don’t wanna be the dad.
Marion: ? Then do you wanna be something else?
Gast: Something else?
Marion: You can be the mom, the baby, a dog, or even a caterpillar!
Gast: A caterpillar!?
Marion: I wanna be a pancake shop owner today!
Gast: A...a pancake shop owner? A family like that doesn’t exist, y’know?
Gast: I mean, if I become a caterpillar, that makes a caterpillar and a pancake shop owner family. Isn’t that weird?
Marion: How so?
Gast: Eh.....
Marion: Nova told me there’s no set form for a family. Even if you’re not blood related, as long as you’re together, that makes you family.
Gast: ..........
Marion: So I'll be a pancake shop owner, and you’re alright with being a caterpillar?
Gast: Ah,, yeah!!
Gast: Eh!? Wait, give me a sec to think about the caterpillar thing!
----------------------------------------------------
[Several hours later]
Gast: .....I got slapped... it stings.
----------------------------------------------------
Gast: I love you!
Gast: I'll protect you for the rest of our lives! So....please marry me!
----------------------------------------------------
Gast: (Why did I get hit.....)
Gast: (Did I say something weird....?)
Gast: (Even though it’s true I love her and all I did was tell her that....even though we got along so well....)
Gast: (Girls are....scary......)
----------------------------------------------------
Harvey: So you can protect the things you need to protect, no matter what happens.
----------------------------------------------------
Gast: (Sigh...I really don’t get it anymore.)
