In AA, the vortex is obviously severly intertwined, and i can't help but think of the sub-groups within that friend group. Even though they're all friends, i'd love to know your thoughts on who you think each character is closest to in said vortex and why, if you don't mind sharing.... There's just so many intra-dynamics within that same group and i find it interesting.

Fun question! I'll do top 3 of each and include Jaymee because she's been welcomed into the Vortex at least twice now. And it was pretty official in 5x10.

Asher: Jaymee, JJ, Jordan – Jaymee's his partner for life prob, and JJ and Jordan have been his best friends forever. Bonus is Coop because they developed a very fun, close friendship.

Coop: Patience, Spencer, Asher – Patience is her ride or die, Spencer is her soulmate, and she grew very close to Asher.

Jaymee: Asher, Layla – no clue about the last person. I think we'll have to see her interact with characters to figure that out. But Asher's her person, and we've seen several one-on-one scenes with Layla, now. She confided in Layla when she found the ring!

JJ: Asher, Jordan, Spencer – his boys! Bonus might be Olivia because he seems to have a real soft spot for her.

Jordan: Layla, Olivia, Spencer – his partner, his sister, his brother. Pretty evident who his top three are. Each relationship has been richly developed. Bonus is Asher. He's been his best friend since they were six years old.

Layla: Jordan, Olivia, Patience – the Baker twins are her whole world, and I think she grew really close to Patience through working together.

Olivia: Spencer, Jordan, Layla – love of her life, brother, best friend. She needs these three people in her life always.

Patience: Coop, Layla, Olivia – she loves her ladies. And she loves loves loves Coop.

Spencer: Olivia, Coop, Jordan – he'll do anything for Olivia, Coop is his soulmate, and Jordan is his brother.

I'm with you, Anon. I think the intra-dynamics of the Vortex is super interesting, too!

I wouldn’t trade All American’s PG rating for anything. I think shows ruin ships trying to be a mature rating and doing a whole bunch of fucked up and unnecessary shit between couples to be that rating and All American gotta be wholesome, the lesson gotta be wholesome, there will be obstacles but it’s never not wholesome and sometimes you just need that wholesomeness.

It's time for Coop to go now. They have completely destroyed her character. Why is Patience suffering for everything that Coop has done? It's very clear who the writers like more. What was the point of upping Patience to a series regular if they weren't going to do anything with her besides always being attached to Coop. Chelsea & Bre Z deserve better than this.
