Aunty’s babies are officially coming!!!

I didn’t even know the show started back already but I came out of retirement just for this. And they still give me a buzz which is crazy. I’m so happy man. I’m conflicted about how they revealed the news. Because part of me feels like seeing Spencer’s reaction was necessary just for the sole fact of him having such a complex relationship with his own father. Obviously he’s gonna be an amazing dad but I would’ve liked to see that realization hit him that he’s going to be a dad and him being reflective of wanting to be better than Corey was to him and Dillon. But the other part of me is actually very happy that they are not primarily on the show and NK can’t touch them and make this journey traumatic or try to create drama uncharacteristically surrounding the pregnancy. All in all I’ll take whatever little updates I get about my favourite ship. To Spelivia being a family of 4🥂

There’s no reason for her to be on this show anymore but then again, there’s no reason for a season 7 to even exist so… they can do what they feel like over there. Sorry, did everybody think Daniel and Sam were supposed to act together for the rest of their lives? Y’all doing too much over a fucking short film. The chemistry that Daniel has with Sam is lightning in a bottle. Literally one in a million. But at the end of the day, no matter how much you ship them or want them together in real life, they are ACTORS. They are going to have projects with other people and have chemistry with other people because that’s their job!!! Also, as if it wasn’t obvious, you don’t know these people. Talking about it feels like he’s cheating. The way he probably avoided doing it with Sam because of the reaction it would cause, only for it to cause a different reaction because it wasn’t with Sam. Daniel’s latest interview (fantastic interview btw) says that he and NK knew he was exiting before the season started and he talked about what he wanted the character’s closure to be basically and that once he knew he secured that, the story was complete. Great! NK said in her interview that the wedding was never supposed to happen in this season and that the completion of the story would be enough once Spencer and Olivia got engaged at the Super Bowl and they’d come back to guest star for the wedding. Ok…

So this just confirmed to me that she tried to use their wedding to negotiate a season 7. What I wanna know is, what made the studio give her two extra episodes instead and still renew a season 7. Or what made her “change her mind and ask for 2 more episodes” to get them married if she already had her season 7

The only people that don’t think Layla was an obstacle to Spencer and Olivia is stan twitter. EVERYONE saw her as one. When Olivia said that line about obstacles last night my mother shouted “yeah she was one” even before Layla apologized. It’s canon. It’s not that deep anymore. Everyone has moved on. No one’s rewriting anything. Spencer liked Layla and pursued Layla, that is a fact. But what is also a fact is Layla pursued Spencer despite Olivia and her feelings, while also pushing Olivia to pursue him. It’s canon that she knew of Olivia’s feelings. It’s canon that she tried to be a wing woman for Olivia. And it’s canon that she knew the reason Olivia backed off. It was never about Olivia losing feelings. She and Olivia sat in the stands of Spencer’s game and Olivia told her about the brother mishap. That’s what made her back off and Layla knew that and told her “too bad, he looks good out there.” And then kissed him that same episode, not knowing Liv was about to come see him. I can understand not calling her an obstacle if she let Spencer know the reason Olivia backed off or if Spencer found out somehow and he still decided to pursue Layla. Then it would really be all on Spencer. But she didn’t tell him, he was still oblivious to Olivia’s feelings and she swooped in, whether maliciously or not, because she wanted him. That’s why she apologized last night and that’s why she apologized in season 1

She was moving selfish and I’m tired of people acting like she didn’t owe Olivia anything as her “best friend.” And honestly she talked about herself like an obstacle because when she broke up with him in season 2 and told Olivia now would be the time for her to “make her move”… she knew all along Olivia still had feelings, she just didn’t care. That’s why the shift was so big for her in season 3 because even though she knew Liv’s feelings, it became different because she could actually see Spencer’s feelings for Liv despite him being in a relationship with her. That makes it extra extra shitty

There’s something so beautiful about season 1 Olivia being a wallflower and watching the Beverly crew from the outside, crushing on Spencer silently and to herself to seeing the both of them finding a quiet moment with each other during their wedding, watching the community celebrate them and their love. Like we talk about Spencer getting the girl a lot but Olivia really got the guy. She got her happy ending. I love this for her sooo much

Saying goodbye to my best boy (and hopefully my best girl) tonight. What a journey. No matter how I feel about this show now, it gave me 2 characters that I connected with immediately and more importantly 2 black actors with all the talent and the potential in the world that this industry needs. The story of Spencer James and Olivia Baker will stand the test of time and I feel proud knowing Spencer’s story created a renaissance of black led shows. They achieved their dreams and now they’re getting married!!! My babies. So happy I was able to witness thee greatest new age ship of all time. The last of its kind. I’m gonna miss them.
