My take on a Coat of Arms (or ‘Blason’) with a feline inspiration. If I ever open a pub, I will definitely call it ‘Cat in Arms’. This is the first marquetry piece I made since I came back from Paris. I spent much time gathering the necessary tools, materials and preparing them ready for marquetry. The sequence shows the initial design and tracing the template, cutting of the parts and the base, gluing up, cleaning the piece, and finally polishing.
