My friend and cool person you might know from the internet, adhd, fandom, and or kink spaces, Cate Osborn aka Catiosaurus, filmed and released a holiday special about the turkey in a Christmas Carol.
That is not a joke. There are many good jokes in this special.
There is also a lot of genuine investigative literary & historical analysis and incredible insight into an area of the text that somehow no one else has ever analyzed this immensely well analysed and frequently explored text.
There's also just genuine touching commentary about this story and its reflections in our world today.
I am a Dickens scholar (true fact). I don't like Christmas Carol (read Bleak House, GDT and I beg you!). I'm also a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to the holiday. I loathe Christmas music outside of the day before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. But this Christmas special did give me some warm fuzzies. And I think, even if you don't like or celebrate Christmas, you might enjoy Cate's wonderful, chaotic, thorough, and heartfelt exploration of that iconic bird and the text in which it features.
