Update on #hardythecat! He's had his wee op now and is recovering, getting all the loves and treats and fireside time. We've since found out he was hit by a car and left ... his femur was fractured in 2 places; one more awkwardly than the other, hence the external pin. I understand as much as the next person that accidents happen, and unfortunately animals don't share the same sense of road danger as us, but more compassionate and caring actions from the driver would have meant Hardy's suffering was minimised. All it would have taken is a couple of knocks on a couple of doors and they would have identified us as the owners, or if they'd taken him to the vet he would have been seen to earlier, and again, we would have been identified (he's chipped). I struggle to understand anyone who wouldn't feel compelled to do something to help if they accidentally hit an animal, even if they weren't animal or cat lovers. #brokenleg #brokenfemur #catoperation
