I was going to wait until his birthday to make this update, but he's made so much progress recently that I wany to make one now. Almost 3 years ago Binxy came into my life. Our landlady called asking if my mom and I would mind having another cat. I said yes immediately, my mom was hesitant. We went to her house to meet Binxy, then named Sampson, and he and I had an instant connection. He came out of his carrier and snuggled my hand. We snuggled the whole time our landlady's granddaughter told us about him. He was in a home where he was being terrorized by dogs. He'd hardly come out from under the bed. Then he was passed from home to home. We are his 5th or 6th home, but his final home. He was full of anxiety, quite skinny, and unsure of everything. He and I have had a special bond since day 1, but he's had issues with my mom. For the first year, she couldn't even look at him without him running away. He was very skittish, and everything scared him. Now? I can hold him, I can snuggle him. He jumps on the arm of my mom's chair so she'll snuggle him, and he steals her spot as soon as she gets up. He's chunky, and prefers to have his snacks hand delivered to him. He isn't happy unless there's at least 20 toys on the floor for him to play with. He always raids the toy bin for more. He is obsessed with fresh water, I don't know what his situation before, but I get the feeling he never had enough fresh water. If we stop snuggling him too early, he'll reach his paw out and smack us. He loves playing with his sisters. He babysits Ducky for me when I clean his tank. He alerts me to bugs. He likes when I buy him new collars. He puts his mousie toys in his water dish when he's done playing with them. He still has a lot of anxiety and gets scared easily. But, he has taught me patience. And he has taught me that every animal needs a chance. I'm not sure what would have happened to him if he had been put in a shelter. I'm glad I was able to take him before that happened. Now, he has a forever home. He knows love. He is spoiled.
