I took a class about Arthurian literature but I'm blanking on any Good questions jfkdsa;fjdsl;afslafjlsa so let's just go with: what are your thoughts/feelings/ramblings on Morgan(na) le Fay?
I think Morgan/a/ine is an excellent example of how woman in Arthurian texts are often treated in this "you either don't matter (except in the production of male characters) or you're evil" As her character was recycled over and over the more likely it was she was shown to be an antagonist of some sort going so far as to challenge Mordred as the true instrument of destruction for Arthur's reign. Yet you go back further to the Welsh origins she is the embodiment of the feminine (ie: mystical/water imagery etc) her name literally etymologically speaking meaning "sea-born". When you pair these two facts together it strikes me that "modern" male adaptations so often take this personification of mythic femininity and twist it so that her womanhood becomes a force of evil against the idolized manhood of Arthur himself.
