I'm singing some of my all-time favourite jazz tunes at the magnificent @PollokHouseNTS on Sunday 8th July | 7pm | £15/£12 | tickets on my website, link in bio! . . . I can't wait. And because I love a fact, here's some about the majestic house itself. . . . It was designed in the mid 1700s by prominent architect William Adam, who died four years before the initial phase of construction began in 1752. His sons John and Robert took over the project, the latter of which is the architect behind Edinburgh's Charlotte Square and the revival of classicism in British architecture in the 1760s. (i KneW ThAT FrOM uNi) . . . Gifted to the city of Glasgow in 1966 by Dame Anne Maxwell Macdonald, it is also home to an impressive collection of Spanish art as well as works by Rubens and William Blake. . . . This engraving shows the visit of Prince of Wales, Baron Renfrew, to Pollok House on 15th August, 1859 #CatsFacts #whatsonglasgow #jazz #jazzscotland #historicglasgow #PollokHouse #nationaltrust (at Pollok House)
