In the beginning there was an explosion, a big bang. From it came a vast void of a baby astral sea and the start of everything. The first life came as Primordia, ancient divine beings. Their true names have been lost to time, but some records have been noted for calling these beings Sol and Luna.
The two created the planes, the world, and even the first humanoid. Their love made the universe function, and the world spin.
Sol was a being full of vigor and energy. With his hands, he created the first beings from clay. With his ichor, he gave life to each creation. Warm, welcoming, and sociable, Sol adored his creations.
Luna contrasted her lover, being far more reserved and quiet. With her hands, she cradled her lover's creations in their end. With her tears, the world bloomed. Calm, methodical, and stoic, Luna tended to her subjects tenderly.
This was the cycle of life. From the hands of one to another. As this cycle continued, soon more Primordia were born.
These beings weren't as powerful as their parents, but still reserved some domain.
Stella, the oldest, decorated the astral sea with beautiful stars, comets, and other celestial bodies
Aurora, the middle, had joined the sky to create a balance and Day
Eclipsis, the youngest, had taken up the darkness to relieve her mother of her grief
After the creation of their children, the world carried on, fuller than ever. Then came the first humanoid (the first celestial).
Called the Caelum Natiae, or "heaven born", this being resembled closest to an aasimar
This creation, who's original name is lost, had brought along a new age of creation and curiosity.
Time came and time went. Life bloomed then died. However, as age came to claim the caelum natiae, something Sol seemed to shift.
Death drew nearer for this beloved being. Sol became withdrawn and quiet. During the sunrise, as his lover was sleeping, he killed her. From her body were strewn the first essence of immortality- as beautiful, purple pearls.
These pearls were cast to the sea, dormant.
When his children had learned of the death of their mother, the world had fallen into disarray. Devastated by grief, the stars left the sky, and unbearable sunlight loomed over everything. Undeath was now, but in the scorning light of day.
This era continued, however overpopulation quickly began. Starvation and misery spread, with no reprieve from it.
One day, this came to a violent end. Moved from grief to burning anger, Aurora sought revenge. In the night, she murdered her father. Carving his body, she divided his immortal heart into nine pieces before scattering his body across the planes.
The darkness had ended. With their parents gone, and the world to heal, the three children had done their best to improve what they could.
Once the sun returned and the grass was green, and hunger was a rarity, the three decided to rest.
They returned their immortality to the astral sea, to be reborn again and again.
Some rumors suggest the younger Primordia may be in stoney slumbers, such as their parents. Hypothetically... they could rise again...
This was so fun to write and create a d&d campaign around! I hope you all enjoyed my lore :)
